Omicron coverage reveals how the establishment, media keep us scared

“In March 2020, a profile of the typical COVID victim emerged from Italy. The average decedent was 80 years old, with approximately three comorbidities, such as heart disease, obesity or diabetes. End the Covid-Zero Mentality

“As the Omicron variant rips through areas of the United States with among the highest vaccination rates in the world, it should be abundantly clear that we will not be able to “end” Covid. But we still have the power to end the “Covid zero” mentality.

The “Covid zero” mentality is an overriding belief that there is some ideal combination of government restrictions and personal behavioral changes that would enable us, in President Biden’s infamous words, to “shut down the virus.”

Ever since the federal, state, and local governments started taking aggressive action against Covid in March 2020, Americans have been taunted by the promise that if we could just get over one hump, Covid madness would be over. In practice, once we got to the top of one hump, another one became visible in the horizon. And then another one. And another one. And another one.

The initial “15 days to slow the spread” is now used only as a punchline. That’s because it ended up getting extended to six weeks, and then months, and for children who were shut out of schools in many parts of the country, over a year. While the slogan may now be treated as an artifact, the central conceit of “15 days to slow the spread” is still with us. That conceit is that if Americans only sacrifice normalcy for a certain period of time, Covid will be over…”

Democrat who sponsored police ‘reform’ bill robbed at gunpoint hours after another liberal was carjacked

“U.S. Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon, D-Pa., was carjacked at gunpoint in Philadelphia on Wednesday as crime continues to surge in major cities across the country.

…Scanlon’s phone and purse were stolen by the attacker, according to WPVI-TV of Philadelphia. Police say Scanlon was approached by two Black males, aged approximately 20-30, as she walked to her vehicle before they demanded she hand them the keys. Scanlon handed over the keys to her blue 2017 Acura MDX and one of the suspects drove away in it while the other drove away in a dark-colored SUV.

…So far in 2021, the Philadelphia Police Department has reported 521 homicides, which is a 13% increase compared to 2020 and the city’s highest number of killings since at least 2007. Incidents involving a shooting have also increased by 4.4%, and the number of people who are victims of a shooting has risen by almost 3% over the past year. The City of Philadelphia is seeing at least an 80% increase in carjackings in 2021, compared to the total number in 2020, police told FOX 29 earlier this month.

Scanlon was not the first prominent Democratic official to be carjacked in a crime-ridden city in the last 24 hours. On Tuesday night, Illinois’ Democratic state Senate Majority Leader Kimberly Lightford and her husband were carjacked in Broadview, Illinois, in the Chicago area, where crime has been surging…”

Anyone with half a brain knows the perps wouldn’t have been apprehended so quickly had their victim been a run-of-the-mill citizen of the hopelessly-misnamed City of Brotherly Love (in which even the brothers seem to hate one another!), let alone had federal charges been filed against them!  If nothing else, The Swamp protects its own.

(2). In a forward from Ed Hickey, Royal Patriot tells us after San Diego State University spent $250,000 on its “Native and Indigenous Healing Garden,” nobody uses it:

“The “Healing Garden” was the university’s way of addressing the controversy over its Aztec warrior mascot, which, unsurprisingly, came under fire a few years ago for being racist cultural appropriation…The healing garden was completed in March of last year, but the big grand opening celebration had to be canceled thanks to the COVID-related lockdowns. Since then, the healing garden hasn’t been healing much of anything. Instead, it pretty much sits unused, a quarter of a million-dollar boondoggle courtesy of a taxpayer-funded university.“

What about using the Native and Indigenous Healing Garden as a site for an altar on which Socialists can honor the Aztecs by cutting out the hearts of the unvaccinated?!?

(3). The Epoch Times reports a U.S. Navy warship has paused its deployment to South America due to a COVID-19 outbreak among its “100 percent immunized” crew: ‘“USS Milwaukee (LCS 5), a Freedom variant littoral combat ship, remains in port as some Sailors test positive for COVID-19,” the U.S. 4th Fleet said in a statement.”  Soooo…how many is “some”…and how sick were they that a warship would halt its deployment?!?  After all, they’re young, in shape (generally) and all purportedly vaccinated; So, given the effects of the Omicron variant on practically 100% of the young, healthy and vaccinated, how sick could they be?!?

(4). Writing at NRO, Rich Lowry lets one of The Donald’s favorite punching bags make his case, as Mitch McConnell correctly notes, “We must be doing SOMETHING Right“.  Say what you want about the Kentucky State Post Turtle, but Mitch has repeatedly performed in a pinch.

(5). In a forward from our old friend, classmate and fellow Nasal Radiator Breeze Gould, the Conservative Daily News explains the basis of its nomination of Chicago’s lame-ass “leader” Lori Lightfoot as Knucklehead of the Week.  Outside of the occupant of the Offal Office and his suck-sessor, we cannot imagine a more deserving recipient of so dubious an honor.

(6). The propagandizing Progressive author of the 1619 Project said Sunday on Meet the Progressive Press she did not understand the notion that parents should have a say in what their children should be taught in school. “I don’t really understand this idea that parents should decide what’s being taught. I’m not a professional educator. I don’t have a degree in social studies or science. We send our children to school because we want them to be taught by people who have expertise in the subject area,” said Nikole Hannah-Jones.

Fortunately, yours truly does have a degree, not only in history but in science.  And we’re not only the son of two teachers, but the brother of two more and father of a fifth.  All of which, at least by the standards established by the corpulent Nikole Hannah-Jones, qualifies us to conclude she’s full of Socialist sh*t!!!

The cap slipped into his throat…The choking student stumbled into a nearby classroom, where Davyon happened to be. “Davyon immediately sprinted over and did the Heimlich maneuver,” Dawkins said. “From the account of the witnesses, when he did it the bottle cap popped out.”

Davyon demonstrated how he got behind the choking student, wrapped his arms around the student and “burped him, kind of.”…Davyon said he learned to do the thrust, commonly called the Heimlich maneuver, on YouTube.

…Many of us can only hope that we’ll be able to respond with the youngster’s cool competence if called upon to help in such a situation. The youngster seems to have been ready for anything that day. Tulsa’s KOTV reports:
