NRO featured the thoughts and comments of a retired mounted Border Patrol supervisor who completely debunked the Dimocrats’ “whipping” narrative:
“…George Syer, a retired horse patrol coordinator in the Rio Grande Valley and Border Patrol supervisor told National Review that the mounted agents were acting according to standard procedure — a fact he said would be obvious to anyone with even a passing familiarity with horses. (Which leaves Joe Biden out; guess there weren’t any horses in that Scranton coal mine or the pool where he met Corn Pop!)
“Spinning the rein is what we do and any horse person that trains horses and has to deal with them, you will find out that they normally spin the end of the rope, and that gets the horse moving,” Syer said.
“It’s a training tool, and it’s a training aid if a horse does not want to cooperate with its rider,” explained Syer, and an especially useful one if “you have people in front of the horse and they’re 10 to 15 feet away and they’re raising their arms, they have bags, they’re trying to be aggressive in their body language — this horse does not want to go over there. If you need to apply additional pressure to that horse in order to make him go, you can spin the two-feet tail of your rein and the horse is gonna go away from the sound of that spinning rein and also the visual of it, because he can see it on the one eye that you’re spinning, that same side. Remember, a horse’s eyes are on the sides of its head.”
Syer added that the primary safety priority of riders is to prevent a collision between human and horse, emphasizing that “everything is to prevent that horse from making contact with a human being — everything.”
It follows then that in Syer’s estimation, the White House has erred not just in its diagnosis of what’s happening on the ground, but in its treatment plan.
“There are a bunch of cities all across America that deploy horses in a crowd control capacity,” he noted, arguing that that’s because the animals provide certain strategic advantages and act as a “force multiplier” when the Border Patrol is overwhelmed, as it right now. The Bureau of Land Management’s website observes that horses are “ideal” for traversing “the rugged and remote terrain, the Border Patrol is responsible for securing” as a result of their inherent “strength, endurance, agility, and intelligence.”
Moreover, Syer observed, every mounted agent receives “some of the most rigorous mounted horse training in the world” during an intensive six-week program.“I would want to have all of the horses in the entire Border Patrol there just to make a perimeter around those camps,” said Syer.
Instead of stripping tools from Border Patrol, the administration should be working to ameliorate the crisis that forced them to use those tools in the first place, a former senior Border Patrol official told National Review. Under the Trump administration, cooperation from the Mexican government had, alongside tougher enforcement mechanisms, stemmed the flow of illegal entries.
“This is all borne by the rescission of those policies, a definite signal that’s been sent out to the globe that we’re going soft at the border, and then a domestic message that says we are not concerned about immigration enforcement,” he argued…”
Message received and clearly understood…on both sides of the border.

Friday morning at a press conference, the president of the United States joined the pile-on against a few agents falsely accused of whipping migrants, in one of the more disgraceful moments in a presidency already full of them.
The first thing to say about this is that the underlying charge is a complete fantasy concocted on social media and amplified by a lazy or complicit media. The agents didn’t have whips, they had reins, and they didn’t strike anyone with them, despite Biden’s saying that he was outraged at seeing “people being strapped.”
One premise of Biden’s primary campaign was that Twitter isn’t real life, but now he’s letting Twitter — and the activist Left — dictate his stances as president…”
We used the color yellow for this headline, as 46* joining in the unreasoned, unfounded condemnation of the Border Patrol is as big an act of cowardice, political or otherwise, as we’ve ever witnessed.
Through the incredible ineptitude evidenced in both its Afghanistan and Del Rio debacles, every single American, regardless of their race, religion, color, creed, national origin or sexual identity on any given day has been served notice: This Administration, along with the entire Progressive movement, wants one thing and one thing only, and that’s power. And there’s no one or no thingthey won’t sacrifice in their pursuit thereof, be it generations of inner-city ethnics, Afghan allies, members of our Military or America’s national sovereignty itself.

Not long ago the Democrats flattered themselves as “the party of government.” The implication was that Democrats, because they believed in using the government, were naturally more capable of manning the actual beast itself. Although it was never implied directly, you could add the fact that because most of the many millions who work for the executive branch are themselves Democrats in sentiment and orientation, Democrats would be more natural leaders. And, to be perfectly honest, there was at least a little credibility to the claim, once we saw Donald Trump in office and saw how elected and unelected Democrats were able to work with their friends in the intelligence community and other parts of the government to frustrate and even outright block Trump. His secretary of energy, for instance, once vowed to abolish the Department of Energy. Or, at least he tried to vow as much.
So now that Democrats are in charge, are things running smoothly? Well, not exactly. Let’s consider Afghanistan and our southern border. It’s here that we begin to understand what they mean by government.
Having taken whichever Afghan was closest to the departing plane — no need to vet them, or check to see whether they had, in fact, offered help and were interpreters — we have now brought a few obvious criminals to America. Very few of the 124,000 Afghan evacuees we got were on the priority list, and Bloomberg immediately reported that a number of them seemed to be coming with child brides.Now we are getting more specific info about one evacuee who is alleged by the FBI to have sexually assaulted two children at Fort McHenry. At Fort Bliss, a female U.S. soldier has also reported a sexual assault by Afghan evacuees. Hadn’t these new Americans read the news the past five years? You don’t commit your sex crime at a military fort right away. You wait until New Year’s parties.
While it was ongoing, this evacuation was deemed a massively enormous success by part of government, which bragged about “the largest airlift in U.S. history.” I guess that’s one way of trying to shine up the worst military humiliation in most of our lives, one in which Joe Biden extended the deadline for our withdrawal several months, allowing the Afghan national government more time to collapse and the Taliban more time to advance and make the whole thing look worse and create what is virtually a hostage situation.
Not a single planner at the Pentagon or senior military person has been fired or disgraced about the foul-ups at the airport, or the 20-year failed mission.Not one!
Now let’s look at another panicked exit. The migrant encampment at the bridge in Del Rio, Texas, has been cleared. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas has admitted that the government has transferred to the interior of the country more than 12,000 Haitians who have arrived in a human wave at Del Rio. Think they all have court dates? Think again. HHS is too backed up with the child brides to follow up. About 2,000 others were deported. This is a strong signal to tens of thousands of other Haitians who may want to move forward with their plans to emigrate to the U.S. on foot from Panama, Peru, and Columbia.
So has anyone at Border Patrol or HHS been fired for releasing well over 10,000 illegal aliens into the country without court dates or follow-ups? Without even the COVID testing that will be required of every American or visa holder who enters this country legally?No, of course not. Instead, they are investigating and disgracing the Border Patrol agents whom we have paid to enforce our laws.
The Department of Homeland Security has launched an investigation of the few Border Patrol agents who were photographed while they were on horseback and holding the reins. Coastal media falsely declared that the reins were whips. And even though they were not — even though the video of these events never showed a Border Patrol officer using the reins as whips, President Biden vowed, “I promise you those people will pay,” adding that there would be “an investigation under way now, and there will be consequences.” How could he possibly know that there will be consequences before an investigation has gathered the facts — the facts that are apparent to anyone who watched the whole video? Who needs them? The vice president already has said that the incident evoked “times of slavery.”
Bringing criminals into the country — that’s commendable. Trying to keep any out, according to our laws — that’s something for which you’ll pay. Now wouldn’t a party of government understand that there might be recruitment problems when Border Patrol agents are publicly tongue-lashed by the president, based on a lie? Wouldn’t a party of government understand that failing to investigate and disgrace the military personnel overseeing the spectacularly failed Afghanistan withdrawal would disincentivize competent leadership in the future?
My worry is that our leaders do know this and don’t care. My worry is that the real party of government is the media. The media wanted to cheerlead the airlift and the evacuees, so criticism of the Biden admin’s botch of a withdrawal has now been muted. And the media are against the idea of borders, so they can’t get too honest about the human wreckage resulting from their campaign to dissolve them.
Here’s the juice: We believe our “leaders” not only know, but that their actions are all part of a Progressive plan to bring about a Socialist Amerika in which everyone will be equal…equally miserable. With the Liberal elites just a tad bit less miserable and a wee bit more equal than others. And those Liberal elites now include the senior members of our Military.
Since we’re on the subject of Liberal elites seeking to undermine and overturn the Founders’ Republic, NRO informs us how…
“It’s still two months until Thanksgiving, and already one school district in Washington is serving up pie to its staff. Not pumpkin pie. Not apple or cherry. Rather, teachers at Tumwater High School recently were force-fed a big slice of “privilege pie.”
According to one employee, teachers in the district were required to attend diversity training where they were asked to examine their privilege. As part of the training, the teachers were instructed to color in a “privilege pie” – a pie chart with several so-called privileges, including being white, cisgender male, Christian, heterosexual, and U.S. born.
“The more we colored in, the more privileged we were,” the teacher, whose name was not released, told Parents Defending Education, a nonprofit that fights classroom indoctrination and activist-driven agendas in U.S. schools.
…They learned about the “pyramid of white supremacy,” which ranges from indifference and minimization to violence and genocide. According to the pyramid, “remaining apolitical,” “avoiding confrontations with racist family members,” believing that “it doesn’t matter who you vote for,” denying white privilege, and the one-time American ideal of colorblindness are all examples of white supremacy…”
In other words, heads you’re a White supremacist, tails you’re a racist. Or as Paul Simon and Art Garfunkle put it…
Meanwhile, as The Washington Free Beacon tells us, anti-Semitic hate crimes in 2020 outnumbered attacks against Muslims, Asians and transgenders COMBINED. And we’d bet our entire net worth the vast majority of those weren’t committed by privileged White males.
