It’s Friday, August 20th, 2021…and though exhausted, we’re…
But before beginning, you’ll indulge us as we offer a few favorite photos from our trip…
…along with a brief observation on the last leg of the long journey home. Touching down early in Philadelphia, we breezed through customs (baggage claim was another story), and easily scored an Uber to the Wilmington, DE Amtrak station (which, thanks to him funneling a generous donation from taxpayers to the overfunded, underperforming National Railroad Passenger Corporation, 46* got the station named after himself). Arriving well in advance of our 6:17 PM departure, we decided to take an earlier train.
Imagine our surprise when the ticket agent informed us, having made our reservation more than 14 days in advance, our tickets had been purchased at a reduced fare the railroad wouldn’t honor for an earlier train. So if we wanted to catch the 5:27 Northeast Regional to BWI station rather than the same train leaving some 50 minutes later, we’d have to pay triple the cost, despite the fact the 5:17 had plenty of open seats in business class.
However, were we willing to travel in coach, we not only could ride the 5:27, but get a refund for the fare difference between business and coach. So while this federally-owned money pit was unwilling to let TLJ and us occupy open seats on an earlier train unless we ponied up 3X the cost, they were willing to charge us less money for a seat little different from what we’d reserved.
As they say, it’s a helluva way to run a railroad, only it’s your tax dollars they’re pissing away.
Now, in a world seemingly gone crazy in the three weeks we’ve been gone, and an increasingly insensate nitwit at the helm of the ship of state, here’s a long-overdue edition of The Gouge!
First up, everything you need to know about the complete and utter…
…that is 46*’s handover of Afghanistan to the Taliban, and then some. As reader Bill Meisen noted, there hasn’t been a pull-out so bungled by a Biden since Hunter got that stripper pregnant.
“…The U.S. presence in Afghanistan was meeting the original strategic goal of denying a safe haven for terrorists and preventing another 9/11. The 18 months before withdrawal saw no U.S. combat deaths. Does that really sound like “endless war” in any traditional sense? More important, does it sound better or worse than the current outcome?
Mr. Biden’s decision was reckless and unnecessary. Policy aside, there wasn’t even political pressure to take such thoughtless action. The facts on the ground didn’t warrant a hasty withdrawal, and intelligence predicted the Taliban would eventually take over. Even worse, this decision was made as the spring fighting season began, all but guaranteeing a Taliban offensive emboldened by the knowledge of an imminent U.S. withdrawal and a collapse of morale by our Afghan allies in uniform and in government.
America didn’t lose a war, or even end one. We gave up on a strategic national-security interest. We gave up on our Afghan allies, expecting them to stave off a ruthless insurgency without our crucial support, which came at minimal cost to us. This administration’s actions are heartless, its justifications nonsensical. The consequences are dire for innocent Afghans and for America’s prestige. Twenty years after 9/11, I pray they don’t become equally dire for Americans at home.“
Abandoning Afghanistan essentially denies the existence and reality of global jihad, not to mention eliminating an effective springboard for fighting it. Which is why Putin’s refusal to grant Biden’s request for the basing of U.S. forces in Central Asia undercut efforts to act against new terrorist dangers after his ignominious Afghanistan rout.
Here’s the juice: Reading the first of Churchill’s six volume The Second World War, we realize Biden is no different than Neville Chamberlain. He may want peace, but they don’t. Thus does The Groper maintain his perfect record of being on the wrong side of every policy and issue since entering public office. And you can add this…
…blood to that already on Biden’s hands from the tens of millions of babies he’s happily helped slaughter.
“…The father, who wished to remain anonymous, said his wife called him on Saturday and said that the Taliban was all over the city, FOX 31 reported. She and her children were apparently visiting family in Afghanistan when the Taliban invaded.
The man said that his wife wanted to come home, so he booked a flight through Turkish Airlines for Sunday, according to FOX 31. Unfortunately, the flight was canceled several hours before it was scheduled to depart.
“My wife and my daughters for now are hiding in a house in Kabul,” the concerned father told FOX 31. He continued, “I think it’s chaos. There are a lot of lives in danger.”
Fellow Coloradan Patrick Allen is a retired U.S. Army Special Forces colonel who served in Afghanistan. After being contacted by the father, he’s trying to help bring the family home. So far, he’s reached out U.S. Representative Jason Crow for help…”
Colonel Allen should be helping the anonymous father find a good psychiatrist, as anyone who’d send their family to visit to Afghanistan of late needs their head examined.
Since we’re on the subject of those in dire need of a mental acuity assessment, the…
“…Marty Cetron, the CDC official who signed the mask order, told Reuters last month that the transit mask mandate has been effective.
“Masks are really powerful and we should make sure they’re part of our arsenal,” Cetron said. “The truth is that the unvaccinated portion that’s out there is extremely vulnerable.”…”
Would it be too much to ask the clown car which is the 46* Administration to provide us any scientific data which validates such a conclusion? As Noam Blum noted in our Quote of the Day featured at the top of the page, this is nothing more than the government making it safer for the unvaccinated to remain so at the expense of those who’ve taken the shot(s).
“Biden then announced that despite what he’d just said, in two-thirds of America’s counties, people did need to wear a mask, even if they were vaccinated, because the CDC fears that vaccinated people may spread the virus to people who are unvaccinated. Biden likes to ad-lib from the presidential lectern, and he often just blurts out things that sound right to him, regardless of whether they’re actually true. It’s not the biggest deal in the world when Biden claims, “I used to drive an 18-wheeler,” and no one has any idea whether he’s remembering, exaggerating, or perhaps imagining past experiences. But the American president is not supposed to just wing it when he’s making announcements as important as this one about the pandemic.
Biden warned that, “We’re seeing a spike in cases because of this new form, this new variant, called the Delta variant.”
Biden said, “We need to wear masks to protect each other and to stop the rapid spread of this virus as we work to get more people vaccinated.” Those of us who are vaccinated are being asked to take additional action to protect people who will not take any action to protect themselves or us. This is akin to telling the public to drive less frequently because a segment of the population drives recklessly. That approach might mitigate the consequences a bit, but it doesn’t really address the root of the problem — and it limits the freedom of the responsible to indulge the irresponsible.
The administration, the CDC, the country, and the world have a real problem. The people who are unvaccinated and thus most vulnerable to the virus are also among the folks who are least willing to wear masks to protect themselves — and least willing to obey public-health guidance in general. Because one segment of Americans won’t listen to the administration and the CDC, the administration and CDC are asking the rest of us to make further changes to our behavior.
…White House chief of staff — and, some Republicans argue, the de facto prime minister — Ron Klain declared on Twitter that the administration is prioritizing a mask mandate instead of a vaccine mandate because, “anyone who starts vaccination today isn’t fully protected from the virus for six weeks.” (Whether he realizes it or not, he’s talking down the benefits of the vaccines. Yes, two shots are much better against the Delta variant, but getting one shot gives you at least some protection. Even if it’s just 33 percent protection, would you rather have that for the first few weeks or zero percent protection?)
Klain continued, “Also, CDC is concerned that even vaccinated people MIGHT transmit Delta: you are masking to slow the spread.” If that sounds familiar, it’s because on March 16, 2020, the White House of the previous administration unveiled the slogan, “15 Days to Slow the Spread.” One year, four months, and 14 days later, you’re being asked to put the mask on again, to “slow the spread.”
Recall how Joe Biden and his team were described upon their return to the halls of power in Washington:
You don’t have to love the outgoing Trump team to recognize that selecting a team of “mature” “experienced” “grown-ups” may just amount to exchanging one set of problems for another.
Biden and Klain and CDC director Rochelle Walensky and the rest don’t really seem like reassuring “mature” “experienced” “grown-ups.” They seem like befuddled bureaucrats who have just a handful of go-to moves in every circumstance: throw money at the problem, create more paperwork and procedures, and implement new rules upon everyone in hopes that it will alter the behavior of a particular group.“
“The fire caused billions of dollars worth of damage on the amphibious assault ship, which raged over four days and was the Navy’s worst U.S. warship fire outside of combat in recent memory.
The ship was eventually decommissioned.Repairing it would have cost $2.5 billion to $3 billion and take five to seven years, said Rear Adm. Eric H. Ver Hage of the Navy Regional Maintenance Center said at the time…”
Any chance said sailor had a connection with the ChiComs? No doubt the NIS and FBI are hotly pursuing this angle.

“…The family allegedly saw nothing wrong with the 12-year-old being sexually abused by an adult.
“The investigation revealed that the victim’s mother and family members were aware of the relationship between the victim and Miranda-Jara,” police said. “The family permitted the relationship, and there are photos of the family throwing a baby shower for the victim and the suspect.”…”
Savor the fruits of moral degeneracy Dimocrats have long sown. One thing’s for certain: The baby’s going to have a serious set of eyebrows!
In this case, a twisted tale which even left our jaded mind reeling, as we learn the…
“…Nicole M. Johnson, 33, faces multiples charges, including neglect and first-degree child abuse that resulted in the death of a child under the age of 13, for the deaths of Joshlyn Johnson, 7, and 5-year-old Larry O’Neil, both siblings. She was initially pulled over at 11 p.m. by officers from the Baltimore County Police Department’s Essex precinct for speeding. The vehicle had fake paper tags from West Virginia and was unregistered and uninsured, Fox affiliate WBFF-TV reported.
…The bodies of the children were found as the car was being prepared to be towed. When Johnson went to the trunk of the car to gather her belongings, an officer smelled “the unmistakable odor of decomposition,” according to the news outlet. When she removed a plastic sheet and trash bag, the officer noticed maggots in the bag and told her to remove the blankets inside the bag, which revealed a suitcase. In the luggage was the body of one of the children.
Johnson attempted to run and was caught a short time later. The other child was found in the plastic bag, authorities said. One of the children had been in the trunk of the vehicle since May 2020, according to court documents reported by the station…”
But if you think Nicole’s bad, consider the sister who entrusted her with the children. Sorry, but if there were ever a compelling case for forced sterilization…followed by slow suffocation…these two women are it.
