A bad choice between a bad man and a bad cause. *
It’s Wednesday, November 4th, 2020…but before we begin, as Katie Pavlich reports at Townhall.com…
…the Dimocrats decided to go ugly early and avoid the rush! Then again, old tricks…
…are the best tricks.
Now, here’s a somewhat abbreviated edition of The Gouge!
First up, courtesy of The American Spectator via George Lawlor, Dov Fischer asks the question which will be occupy inquiring Conservative minds ’til the fat lady finally sings:
“Most Americans of all stripes flatter themselves that somehow we Americans are better than others. The sense that we are smarter, more civilized, built a greater country, just have something in us that makes us better because we live here. Even most leftists feel that way, quietly complimenting themselves that somehow they are better for being here in the America they hate.
We soon shall see…”
What follows deserves to be featured in full, but time and space requires us to offer it through the links in the headline above. Curiously enough, this is the very subject we raised with TLJ this morning upon the occasion of bringing up her customary coffee in bed. We posed the issue in the form of a question, wondering how many people in Germany had the faintest clue what would be the eventual cost of their country electing Hitler Chancellor in 1933?
We can’t imagine many people who live through them recognize turning points in history when they’re happening. We don’t mean the Pearl Harbors or 9/11s, but rather far less obvious events which nonetheless have a materially adverse or beneficial impact upon a nation or the world.
Who could have known the future of the country and fate of the Union rested on the respective elections of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, both of whom were truly the perfect men for their respective times and challenges?
Who would have imagined the outcome of the War in the Pacific rested on a 40-year-old LCDR’s decision to turn right rather than left on a brilliant June 4th morning?
Who might have foreseen, including Rosa Parks herself, a Black woman refusing to sit in the back of a Montgomery bus would help galvanize the nation into overturning over a century of institutionalized Dimocratic racism?
Who had the prescience to predict a German priest nailing 95 theses to the door of a Wittenburg church would give birth to the Protestant Reformation?
For that matter, who at the time…other than those well-schooled in the promises of God as revealed through the Old Testament prophets…recognized a baby born in Bethlehem was the Savior, Christ the Lord?
No, we’re not comparing The Donald to Jesus, nor is our point Trump is the contemporary equivalent of either Washington of Lincoln. Rather we’re suggesting, Biden’s elected, the policies enacted by a Harris Administration would spell the end of, as Dov Fischer stated, 244 years of freedom, along with the Constitution which provided its protection.
And yes, we mean a Harris Administration, ’cause if you think the Godfather of the Biden Crime Family will last a year in office before either being impeached or declared non compos mentis,…or someone notices the bulge from his…
…you’ve got another think coming.
So, yes, this is one of those times…and we’re praying God once more showers his mercy on America.
In a related item, if The Donald has lost/loses, it will have been because of idiots like former Congresswoman Susan Molinari:
“I’m a third-generation Republican officeholder and proud of it. I served in the U.S. Congress for five terms; I was elected vice chairwoman of the Republican Conference; and I delivered the keynote address at the 1996 Republican National Convention. And I’m here to tell you why I’m voting for Joe Biden.
The COVID-19 pandemic has killed over 222,000 Americans, infected over 8 million fellow citizens, and decimated our economy. Yet, President Trump continues to deny the seriousness of COVID-19.“
Gee,…so do WE!!!
Meanwhile, while quoting a demonstrably inflated death toll, Susan Molinari’s willing to enshrine Socialism…
…because Trump sought to buoy the spirits of a country unnecessarily decimated by an ill-advised, unnecessary lockdown strategy formulated by a 14-year-old for her high school science project?!?
In similar fashion to Ms. Molinari, NRO‘s Dan McLaughlin answers a question nobody ever asked:
* We’ll save you the pain and torment by telling you he’s sitting this election out.
Sorry, but does Mr. McLaughlin really consider Trump’s predecessors to have been good men?!? JFK, LBJ, Tricky Dick, Slick Willy and Barry; seriously?!?
Sorry, Dan, but as the Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 3:10, “There is none good, no not one.” (emphasis added) The only difference between The Donald and his predecessors is (i) the Dimocrats listed either sinned in secret of the MSM covered for them, and (ii) when it comes to Trump, what you see is what you get: warts…tweets…and all!
To even suggest this addled pervert is somehow more fit for the White House than the current occupant…
…is to confirm your brain has been befuddled by an overriding distaste for The Donald.
One last point: Recently watching a YouTube series on Napoleon, we were struck by the fact, having waged almost unceasing war for centuries, European monarchs thought nothing of sacrificing countless numbers of their subjects in the pursuit of personal power and wealth.
We then realized, since Woodrow Wilson, Progressive politicians have been more than willing to make the same trade-off, though in the first 3/4 of the 20th century, sans the personal profit. That all changed in 1992, when William Jefferson Clinton entered the White House and ushered in the Age of Executive Enrichment…though we must confess, unlike Biden and Hillary, Bill and Barry at least had the sense to realize their profit AFTER leaving office.
Which brings us to The Lighter Side:
Then there’s this from Brendan Clark…
…along with these four from Balls Cotton:
We’ll know the truth behind that last one in the coming days…or weeks…months?!?
In the meantime, though many have told us to keep our fingers crossed, we’ll be keeping them pressed together…in prayer!
