It’s Friday, April 10th, 2020…and here’s a rather unique installment of The Gouge!
We’ll dispense with the usual preliminaries and get right to the main attraction: courtesy of Mark Tapscott, an Epoch Times-produced piercing exposé of the origins of the Wuhan virus, as well as the nature and intentions of the government which produced it. The video is 55+ minutes long, but trust us, it’s a MUST-SEE video, hence its top billing.
Here’s the juice: the Chicoms have not been, presently are or ever will be our friends. Again, never confuse our opinion of the Chinese people with our abhorrence of their Dear Misleaders, any more than our feelings for legal immigrants with our opposition to the admission of illegal aliens.
Like Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong Un, Nicolás Maduro, Raúl Castro and every other head of a totalitarian Socialist state, Xi Jinping’s only goal is enormous wealth at the expense of those under his unlimited power. And anything which threatens his position must either be eliminated…
…or enervated:
Does anyone seriously believe the heirs of Chairman Mao, who sacrificed some 65,000,000 of his subjects so he could sleep with innumerable concubines without brushing his teeth, would hesitate to obfuscate their responsibility for visiting this pandemic upon the world, let alone their own people, if it meant preserving their power?!?
If, after the first wave of the Wuhan virus pandemic has subsided, the United States…not to mention the rest of the Free World…doesn’t drastically alter its relationship with Red China, it will only serve to further confirm a political and business “establishment” utterly at odds with the common good controls the country.
For those who share our view it’s high-time we keep the vulnerable isolated and send the rest of America back to work, we recommend the most recent installments of Best of the Web and the Morning Jolt, as well as the latest from Anthony Fauci, who we have increasingly come to believe has served long past his expiration date:
Fauci, who is 79, has served in his current position as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases since 1984, which could seem ominous in itself.
Our point is, any enterprise, let alone a government bureaucracy, run by anyone for that length of time risks the onset of institutional inertia and intellectual stagnation owing to the uninterrupted influence of a single individual. That medical or public health organizations are immune to such effects is a flight of fantasy.
Add the unaccustomed and sudden celebrity, deference and power Fauci’s been granted, and you have a formula for disaster.
Unfortunately, it’s a disaster whose effects both The Donald and average Americans…like us…will suffer. Average Americans because Fauci seems utterly unaware or unconcerned over the impact his purely epidemiological perspective has on our lives; The Donald because, by featuring Fauci, he’s created a true Catch-22. If he ignores the good doctor’s edicts and begins returning the country to normal, the MSM will pin the first COVID-19-related death squarely on his shoulders. If he allows the lunatic Liberal “If it saves just one life” mantra to thrust the economy into a depression, he’ll receive blame for the economy with no credit whatsoever for the indefinable lives saved.
It’s the classic Progressive-created conundrum: heads we win, tails you lose.
