It’s Monday, December 23rd, 2019…which means there are only TWO shopping days left until Christmas, fellas…and you’re rapidly running out of time!
But before we begin, courtesy of Bill Meisen, we present the Rhah Memorial…
…segment, courtesy today of a MSM so consumed with hatred it will believe anything which casts its opponents in a bad light:
Yes, falling hook, line and sinker for the Jussie Smollet hoax IS America in 2019…at least the MSM in America…a group which, with every passing episode of demonstrably and deliberately inaccurate reporting, reinforces our belief the Progressive Press IS the enemy of the American people…at least as we understand the role and duties of the Fourth Estate.
Now, here’s The Gouge!
First up, Tucker Carlson and Neil Patel offer this primer to aid us in…
“After months of false starts and threats and endless posturing, Donald Trump has joined Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton as the third American president impeached by the House of Representatives. Democrats started promising to do this before the president was elected. Still, it feels kind of weird, surprising, surreal even, that it actually happened. Why? Because impeachment is a terrible idea for the country. At this point, there is no chance the Democrats can remove the president. And in trying, they will only hurt themselves. The polls are clear.Yet — and here is the fascinating part — they did it anyway.
…The entire impeachment saga has become detached from reality. Here are the facts: Democrats do not have the votes to remove Trump from office. They never will have the votes to remove the president. The point of impeachment is to remove a president. They cannot do that. This process is doomed. By the way, they don’t have the votes because voters don’t support it. The irony is that our democracy is working just fine.Voters support it. After a full month of watching public hearings on impeachment, Democrats have not gained support. They have lost it. In late October, when this began, about half the country backed impeachment and 44% said they were opposed. In the most recent polling, those numbers have inverted. In other words, the more peoplelearned about impeachment, the less they wanted impeachment. That’s not one person’s opinion. That is the sum total of the polling.
Even in the face of all the data, elite Democrats still will not admit it. They are in denial. Democratic Party cheerleader and CNN commentator Jeffrey Toobin attacked his own company’s polling when it didn’t match what he believes to be true: “You see a decline from our last poll in Democratic support from 90% down to 77%. Can I just say, that I don’t believe that poll for one second…The 90% to 77%. You know, it’s just I don’t believe it. Like it makes no sense that that the numbers would change like that. I mean…sometimes polls are sometimes wrong.”
Why doesn’t he believe it?Because he doesn’t. Says the legal analyst. I look out my window and I see the horizon. That means it’s flat. You can tell me the Earth is round. But I just don’t believe it, never mind your dumb numbers and scientific theories.I just don’t believe it. This is the definition of ideological extremism. It’s an inability to change course no matter what the evidence tells you. At that point, this is no longer politics. We left that a long time ago. What we are seeing is religion. And, of course, being the Democratic Party, it’s always the exact opposite of what they claim it is…”
And as politics becomes religion, religion…at least as practiced by certain of the supposedly devout…is becoming politics, as…
“It’s obvious that Christianity Today has moved to the left and is representing the elitist liberal wing of evangelicalism,” Graham concludes. “Is President Trump guilty of sin?Of course he is, as were all past presidents and as each one of us are, including myself. Therefore, let’spray for the President as he continues to lead the affairs of our nation.“
“…By injecting Christianity into that debate, Galli inevitably suggests (especially to the left, for whom it is convenient) that people of the Christian faith are, in fact, obliged to condemn Trump and support his impeachment. This is risible. It is irresponsible. It also proved irresistible.
The only interesting question about all this is why Galli felt compelled to sacrifice the best interests of the platform he was supposed to nurture? I don’t know the answer, but I can calculate the cost. It is immense. The only redeeming aspect of this is the condemnation now flowing down from previous supporters of the once-traditional fortress of evangelicalism. Perhaps that will save other congregations of believers, whether virtual or still organized around pews or causes, from the same intemperate outbursts from their leadership.“
Here’s the juice: in the best traditions of the Pharisees, Galli took it upon himself (“I am making a moral judgment that he is morally unfit, or, even more precisely, it’s hispublic morality that makes him unfit”, he told CBS) to weigh The Donald and find him wanting…according to standards Galli, in his sole and absolute discretion…not to mention infallible wisdom…he himself established.
We’d humbly suggest Mr. Galli remove the beam the size of the General Sherman Tree…
…from his own eye before he plucks the splinter from Trump’s.
Need we inquire whether the sanctimonious Mr. Galli similarly called for the impeachment of Clinton or Obama on the occasion of their innumerable lies and instances of moral turpitude?!?
Next up, Townhall.com‘s Katie Pavlich records what you’ve likely already learned: to wit, the…
“…according to leftist Harvard Law Professor Noah Feldman, who testified on behalf of Democrats in front of the House Judiciary Committee earlier this month, President Trump isn’t actually impeached until the Pelosi sends the articles to the other side of Capitol Hill. Feldman argues this point in a new piece for Bloomberg titled,“Trump Isn’t Impeached Until the House Tells the Senate“:
According to the Constitution, impeachment is a process, not a vote.
If the House does not communicate its impeachment to the Senate, it hasn’t actually impeached the president. If the articles are not transmitted, Trump could legitimately say that he wasn’t truly impeached at all.”
The Constitution doesn’t say how fast the articles must go to the Senate. Some modest delayis not inconsistent with the Constitution, or how both chambers usually work.
But an indefinite delay would pose a serious problem. Impeachment as contemplated by the Constitution does not consist merely of the vote by the House, but of the process of sending the articles to the Senate for trial. Both parts are necessary to make an impeachment under the Constitution: The House must actually send the articles and send managers to the Senate to prosecute the impeachment. And the Senate must actually hold a trial…”
“I’ll confess: Last night, when I was first told that Speaker Nancy Pelosi was toying with the idea of not delivering the two articles of impeachment voted by the House against President Trump, I assumed it was a joke.“
Unfortunately for America, it wasn’t…though those who came up with the idea certainly are laughable:
Moving on, writing at NRO, Madelein Kearns recounts an unusually heroic stand by a person of note in the face of the insatiably ravenous P.C. beast, explaining…
“…Rowling, 54, has defended Maya Forstater, 45, who was accused of using “offensive and exclusionary” rhetoric on Twitter, saying she believed there are only two biological sexes.
Forstater was a tax research fellow at the Centre for Global Development (CGD), a lobby group based in London and Washington that campaigns for efforts to reduce poverty. She disputes the claims made against her, citing her right to a “gender-critical” view. She says the opinion is protected under the 2010 Equality Act of Parliament.
Rowling, who’s become a beloved — if not controversial — figure over the years, agreed with Forstater. “Dress however you please. Call yourself whatever you like. Sleep with any consenting adult who’ll have you. Live your best life in peace and security. But force women out of their jobs for stating that sex is real? #IStandWithMaya #ThisIsNotADrill,” wrote Rowling on Twitter.
An employment tribunal ruled on Thursday that Forstater’s stance was “incompatible with human dignity and fundamental rights of others…”
You go, J.K.! Then again, a number of Conservatives have risked being dropped from the list of invitees to the “in” cocktail parties for years…
…though John Roberts certainly isn’t among their number.
Turning now to the Fill in the Blanks segment, FOX News reports on a purposefully-incomplete, P.C.-driven description of the perp in the case of a…
“…The suspect is described asbeing in his mid-20s, “_______” (Fill in the Blank),around 5 feet, 6 inches tall and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a camouflage hooded jacket, blue jeans and black sneakers.“
Really?!? Forgetting for the moment the suspect might not identify as “male”, thus the use of the pronoun “his” would be, at least according to one British judge, incompatible with his human dignity and fundamental rights, his jeans were blue, his sneakers black, but the suspect himself/herself/itself was…what…the Colorless Man?!?
While such flights of politically-correct insanity have found a home primarily in Progressive urban/suburban strongholds across the country, nowhere has it come home to roost with such adverse impact on local citizens as Baltimore, as this item from The Unz Review forwarded by Carl “The Great One” Polizzi details:
“…Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn J. Mosby on Saturday cited a flawed American criminal justice system as the single largest civil rights issue facing black residents in Maryland today, saying her office has taken strides toward reducing disparities but still has more to do.
“Black people are six times more likely to be arrested and become a part of the criminal justice system [than] whites,” Mosby said at the fall symposium of the University of Baltimore Law Review, which was headlined, “400 Years: Slavery and the Criminal Justice System.”
…Mosby cited efforts by her office to do all of the above, including her hosting of youth events, her decision to stop prosecuting marijuana possession in Baltimore, her successful push to vacate convictions that hinged on the word of corrupt police officers and her office’s Conviction Integrity Unit, which reviews past cases thrown into question by new evidence.
…The Democrat’s comments were in contrast to a tough-on-crime platform Mosby ran on when she first sought office five years ago, and came as Baltimore nears the end of its fifth consecutive year with 300 or more homicides.
At the law school forum, Mosby was joined on a panel — titled “Collaborative Methods to Reduce Mass Incarceration” — by Baltimore Public Defender Kirsten Downs, Democratic Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy and Brianna Ford, who is deputy director of the university’s Innocence Project Clinic. All agreed they must work together to erase the legacy of racism in their field.
As black elected/appointed officials control more major American cities and entire counties, you can easily expect for decriminalization of basically any and all crime to end racial disparities in who/whom is in jail.
Baltimore is a 70 percent black city, dominated (for DECADES!!!) by black elected/appointed officials, such as Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn J. Mosby. It also happens to be one of the most violent cities in not just the USA, but the entire world, precisely because individual blacks collectively commit virtually all of the violent crime in the city.
But Mrs. Mosby believes these violent black criminals are innocent, with the criminal justice the real guilty party in this sordid equation.
So how long until we see a majority black city, with a black mayor and a black police chief, just end the charade and make it illegal to arrest blacks for crimes they commit?“
Considering large swaths of the Left Coast have categorically declined to prosecute theft under $900 in response to said locales self-created homeless problem, not long!
As this report from the Baltimore ABC News affiliate affirms…
None of the victims, nor either of the shooters, were White…mundane details which matter not to the likes of Marilyn Mosby, Kirsten Downs, Aisha Braveboy or Brianna Ford.
Such deliberate deception by the likes of these four makes one wonder if perhaps Mario Puzo had it right:
Since we’re on the subject of the inevitable results of decades of Dimocratic dissolution, as Drudge reports from…
Which brings us, appropriately enough, to The Lighter Side:
Then there’s this view of the House impeachment vote from Jeff Foutch…
…this string of pointed political satire from Balls Cotton…
…along with these two classics from Mark Foster:
It’s worth noting firearms, or rather the fact exclusive possession thereof in Jonestown, Guyana was restricted his closest henchmen, were the means Jim Jones used to FORCE his reluctant sheep to drink his deadly bug juice.
Finally, we’ll call it a day with yet another titillating tale torn from the pages of The Crime Blotter, courtesy of a Pluralist.com and a disappointed, disgruntled girlfriend, as an…
“…Authorities charged Kathy Elizabeth Jones, 46, with aggravated assault and criminal damage. The Avondale woman told officers she consumed two Smirnoff Ice alcoholic beverages and two “strong” drinks containing rum, according to a police report.
According to police, Jones tried to set her boyfriend on fire by dousing him with lighter fluid and throwing matches at him.She also allegedly damaged the front door after the man locked her outside while he waited for law enforcement to arrive.
Court documents reveal Jones told officers she remembered being upset with the victim because he would not celebrate with her after she got a job at Subway.Jones said she didn’t remember anything else about the night, according to court documents.
A $15,000 bond has been set for Jones. If she is released, a judge has ordered her to have no contact with the victim.“
We can see the ad now: “Knock back a few cold bottles of Smirnoff Ice: set your hair on fire…or your boyfriend’s!
