First up, Townhall.com‘s Christine Rousselle reports on a resounding victory for the rule of law:
“Convicted terrorist-turned-Women’s March organizer Rasmea Odeh has been deported from the United States to Jordan after it was revealed that she lied on her application for a U.S. visa and for U.S. citizenship.Odeh did not state on her application that she was convicted in 1970 for two bombings in Jerusalem that resulted in the deaths of two people, and hence was tried for immigration fraud. After several appeals and a vacated sentence, on March 23, 2017 Odeh was sentenced to be deported and to be stripped of her U.S. citizenship. Her citizenship was formally revoked on August 17.
Odeh was one of the co-authors of the Women’s March’s “A Day Without A Woman” planned strike and was active in the Women’s March activism…”
Holy cow; for a moment there, we thought Helen Thomas had risen from the grave!
…Odeh’s deportation is proof our supposedly “broken” immigration system actually works…provided someone…somewhere…is simply willing to enforce the law!

Speaking of Progressive prevarication and misinformation, they’re the subject of a recent edition of Jim Geraghty’s Morning Jolt:
My friend Kurt Schlichter and I have different styles of argument, but we end up in similar places. The double standard and hypocrisy of the modern Left created dysfunctional public debate; it will be nearly impossible to resolve anything until we rebuild a consensus on just how a public debates shall proceed. We conservatives can live happily in an anything-goes public arena where controversial statements of any stripe do not risk one’s employment. Or we can live happily in a politer, higher-minded society where sufficiently incendiary, obnoxious, or comments can be deemed beyond the pale and carry significant social consequences. But what we won’t accept is a world where the rules only apply to one side.
“Oh, conservatives are now for firing people when they didn’t used to be.” Well, yeah. See, you changed the rules. The rule used to be that you can’t be fired for what you say or think.But that’s not the rule anymore, thanks to you liberals. Just ask that guy who was at Mozilla or that heretic who thinks men and women are different and got fired from Google. Sure, we were against the new rule, but you used your cultural power through the media, the Democrat party, and your corporate coward allies to impose it. So we are not hypocrites for employing the rule that exists now, thanks to you. And we hope you choke on it.
Hey, if you want to change the rule back, let’s do that. Let’s all gather together and state, unequivocally, “No, we are not going to fire people for what they say or think.” Except you don’t really want to do that. You want to have a special rule that applies only to conservatives, but we’re not going to allow that to happen.That’s why we’re going to make the argument to normals for the universal application of the new rules you created. And it’s an effective argument, which is why you hate it.Normal people naturally understand that there can’t be two sets of rules, one for us normals, and one for you America-hating, alternately perverted and prudish, progressive weirdos.
You can’t denounce talk radio or Fox News for being incendiary and vulgar and then cheer for Bill Maher and Kathy Griffin just because you agree with them. America can have a freewheeling public debate with no economic repercussions for unpopular views, or a calmer, politer, less shout-y and more respectful public debate. Pick one, progressives, and stick to it.
Fat chance.
Next up, writing at the WSJ, Claudia Rosett offers an incredibly insightful answer to a seemingly insolvable problem:
“Calls by the United Nations Security Council to isolate North Korea haven’t stopped Kim Jong Un from launching missiles over Japan or threatening America and its allies. This week President Trump told the General Assembly that the United States is prepared “to totally destroy North Korea” in the event of an attack. If the international community is serious about isolating the Kim regime, there’s a less drastic option not yet tried: expel North Korea from the U.N.
Since the U.N.’s founding in 1945, no member state has ever been expelled. The U.N. charter does, however, provide for eviction: “A Member of the United Nations which has persistently violated the Principles in the present Charter may be expelled from the Organization by the General Assembly upon the recommendation of the Security Council.”
North Korea never met the U.N. membership requirements to begin with. The charter says membership is open only to “peace-loving states” that promote “respect for human rights and for fundamental freedoms.” North Korea was admitted in tandem with South Korea on Sept. 17, 1991. At the time, with the Soviet Union in the process of collapse, the rationalization was that finally bringing North Korea into the U.N. fold might induce it to give up its brutal and predatory ways.
Instead, the legitimacy and perquisites conferred by U.N. membership might have helped the regime survive…
…A bid to toss North Korea out of the U.N. would need strong U.S. leadership, and it could fail.China and Russia could block it with their Security Council vetoes. The despot-packed General Assembly, wary of setting a precedent, could balk.
It’s still worth a try.Even failure would better illuminate the perils of relying on a U.N. that values North Korea’s company above its own charter…”
Not to mention exposing Liberalism’s dependence upon an organization utterly and completely incapable of effective action or governance.
Since we’re on the subject of those who put the company of Communists above their own oaths, as this next report from FOX News details…
“Samantha Power, the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, was ‘unmasking’ at such a rapid pace in the final months of the Obama administration that she averaged more than one request for every working day in 2016 – and even sought information in the days leading up to President Trump’s inauguration, multiple sources close to the matter told Fox News.
Two sources, who were not authorized to speak on the record, said the requests to identify Americans whose names surfaced in foreign intelligence reporting, known as unmasking, exceeded 260 last year. One source indicated this occurred in the final days of the Obama White House.
…A spokesperson for Power had no comment on the number or timing of her requests. But in a previous statement, her lawyer David Pressman emphasized that, “While serving as our Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Power was also a member of the National Security Council responsible for advising the President on the full-range of threats confronting the United States. Any insinuation that Ambassador Power was involved in leaking classified information is absolutely false.”
…Previous U.N. ambassadors have made unmasking requests, but Fox News was told they number in the low double digits…”
But what’s a few hundred politically-motivated unmaskings…
…between friends?!? Particularly provided said unmaskings specifically imperil the governance of Team Trump!
Then there’s this from the Catholic News Agency via Ed Harvey…
“…According to Aid to the Church in Need (ACN), a papal charity that provides aid to persecuted Christians around the world, there are reports of Christian children who have fled violence in South Sudan being forced to recite Muslim prayers in order to receive food at several refugee camps in the Sudan.
Other reports from priests in the area have confirmed that the discrimination is taking place at refugee camps in Sudan, where refugees fleeing the conflict in the South Sudan suffer from poor conditions…”
Then again, what Progressive will lose a moment of sleep over the deaths of a few thousand Sudanese Christians…or for that matter, any other Christians?!?
Next we turn to the Sports Section, and two items which highlight the degree to which the MSM will go in denying the obvious. First, courtesy of CBS Boston via Drudge…
“Through two weeks of the 2017 season, NFL offenses are on a historically low pace. Touchdowns and points are both down from the same point in 2016, and the issue could end up going far beyond just one year.
With Week 2 in the books, NFL teams have scored 132 total touchdowns so far in 2017, or 2.13 per team per game. That’s down from 2.44 touchdowns per game through two weeks last season. Points are also down, as teams are averaging 20.1 per game as opposed to 22.6 in 2016. When the scoring has been high it’s typically been on one side, as 14 of 32 games so far have been won by 14 or more points…”
Here’s where this particular train goes off the rails:
“The league’s mostly sloppy first two weeks have ostensibly contributed to a continued dip in TV ratings. Besides Monday Night Football and the Fox 4PM national TV window, all other NFL broadcasts were down in Week 2 compared to the same time in 2016, according to ShowBuzzDaily.It’s hard to tell how much the drop in scoring has directly impacted the ratings, but it surely hasn’t helped.“
Yeah,…it has to be two weeks worth of sloppy offense; NOT two years of anti-American demonstrations by overpaid, overhyped athletes who, absent the opportunities afforded them by the greatest country in history, would either be incarcerated or pushing brooms and mopping floors at night in office buildings.
“NFL’s ratings woes continued in Week 2, and Wall Street is taking notice, given there are fewer excuses for falling viewership than there were a year ago when Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump were distracting TV-watching Americans.
While NFL games remain some of the most-watched content on television, ratings slid 12 percent in the NFL’s opening weekend, with many blaming Hurricane Irma.But without dramatic weather, the second weekend was off 15 percent year-over-year.This comes after an 8 percent ratings slump last season.
Guggenheim Securities analyst Michael Morris said he had been optimistic heading into the new season because audiences would appreciate some changes, including fewer commercial breaksand allowing players to creatively celebrate touchdowns. Now, though, he says, “early results do not support this optimism.”…”
Yeah,…just what the NFL‘s core viewership felt was missing: NOT deserved/appropriate respect for flag and country, but additional displays of adult males contorting themselves as if they had cattle prods inserted in their rectums.

Police seek ‘mad pooper’ woman jogger who’s defecating shamelessly on people’s front lawns
Colorado Springs cops are hunting a woman dubbed “the Mad Pooper,” who’s been caught defecating in front of houses for weeks. Cathy Budde told KKTV the unidentified woman has been relieving herself in front of Budde’s Colorado Springs home for at least seven weeks.
Her children even caught the “mad pooper” squatting with her pants down in front of the house. “They are like, ‘There’s a lady taking a poop!’ So I come outside, and I’m like…’are you serious?'” Budde told KKTV. “‘Are you really taking a poop right here in front of my kids!?’ She’s like, ‘Yeah, sorry!'”
Budde said the incident happens at least once a week. She recalled catching the jogger doing her business last week. She said the woman “changed up her time a little bit” because she knew the family was watching. “I put a sign on the wall that’s like ‘please, I’m begging you, please stop.’…She ran by it like 15 times yesterday, and she still pooped,” Budde told KKTV.
The Colorado Springs Police Department is now searching for the mysterious woman after the family’s complaints. “It’s abnormal, it’s not something I’ve seen in my career,” Colorado Springs Sgt. Johnathan Sharketti said. “For someone to repeatedly do such a thing…it’s uncharted territory for me.”
We would hope so!
