It’s Wednesday, September 20th, 2017…and as we’re writing this edition of The Gouge whilst flying back from a lovely week with TLJ in the Land of Fruits & Nuts, aka, California, we’ll be brief.
But before we begin, one quick comment: while we fully enjoyed the sun, fun and amazing scenery the Golden State offers, including the beach in Santa Barbara at sunset, the view from San Simeon, an afternoon sampling at Caymus and the majesty of the Sierra Nevada, there’s a significant portion of the populace who are, quite literally, undeniably and irretrievably…
Which is why we always say: Liberalism isn’t a political viewpoint; it’s an advanced, debilitating mental disorder. Our trip up the coast and across to Reno only served to confirm our original diagnosis.
Oh,…and In-N-Out‘s Double-Double Animal is still the best burger on the planet, and their employees the most helpful and cordial we’ve ever encountered in a restaurant other than The Palm.
Now, here’s The Gouge!
First up, courtesy of Townhall.com, we’re in complete agreement with Jeff Crouere when he suggests it’s time to…
“…This week a new controversy has engulfed the troubled network. One of their daily show hosts, Jemele Hill, launched a nasty Twitter tirade against President Trump labeling him a “white supremacist,” an “idiot,” and a “moron.” For good measure, she also claimed that those surrounding the President, presumably including African American HUD Secretary Dr. Ben Carson, were also white supremacists.
After an outcry, the network met with Hill and released a weak statement calling her comments “inappropriate.” She was not suspended, fired or even censured. In fact, Hill did not even apologize for her outrageous and inaccurate comments. In a statement Hill only expressed “regret” that her comments “painted ESPN in an unfair light.”
On Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders stated that Hill’s remarks were a “fireable” offense. On Friday, in response to additional questions on the topic, Huckabee Sanders noted that ESPN is very inconsistent in how it treats their personalities who make political statements. In 2016, former Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling was fired by ESPN for an online post protesting laws allowing transgender individuals the right to use the bathrooms of their choice.
Thus, at ESPN, a conservative sports commentator was fired for expressing his political views on social media, whereas a liberal host was allowed to viciously insult the President and his advisers and retain her high paying position. This type of bias is certainly understood by ESPN viewers and is surely one reason why millions of Americans are “cutting the cord.”…”
In all seriousness, America: wake up and smell the hypocrisy:
Then call your cable company!
Here’s a little 411 for ESPN: one HELLUVA lot more of your viewers are of Curt Schilling’s opinion regarding transgendered access to women’s bathrooms than the Black Live Matter drivel peddled by Jemele Hill, ourselves included. And as our two-year subscription with Verizon is up this month, it will be no coincidence when ESPN isn’t part of our future cable line-up. And frankly, we don’t care what we miss.
We’re already boycotting the NFL; and with good reason, as…
Yo, yo, coach: way to prepare your young players for the realities of life. Meanwhile, allow us to regurgitate:
So get over it. And Michael Brown wasn’t shot in the back with his hands up either, douche pump.
In a related item headlining today’s edition of Educated Idiots on Parade, FOX News informs us how…
NY Times reporter slammed after saying boy mowing White House lawn sends bad signal on child labor
“A former New York Times labor reporter has been slammed on social media for a snarky tweet hitting the White House for letting an 11-year-old boy mow the Rose Garden lawn last week.
Steven Greenhouse, who worked for the Times for 31 years and still writes for the paper on occasion, took issue with the feel-good story of the boy, Frank Giaccio, of Falls Church, Va., who showed up at the White House Friday to cut the grass at the invitation of President Trump.
“Not sending a great signal on child labor, minimum wage & occupational safety >> Trump White House lets a 10-year-old volunteer mow its lawn,” Greenhouse, who covered unions for much of his time at the newspaper, tweeted.
The Daily Wire website slammed Greenhouse’s tweet as the “dumbest” ever posted on Twitter…”
But Bill Kristol unquestionably characterizes Greenhouse’s puerile Progressivism best:
When considering the advisability of uttering such an imbecilic inanity, Greenhouse and his editor(s) at The Times echo the conclusion reached by future-Senator Blutarsky in Animal House:
Since we’re on the subject of counter-productive Progressive policies which inevitably wreak far more havoc than any minuscule benefit they might possibly provide, in the Follow-upSegment, US Defense Watch‘s Ray Starmann continues his excoriation of the politically-correct Quislings who continue to decimate our national defense:
“During the 1990’s Lieutenant General Claudia Kennedy, was a vocal advocate for women to serve in combat positions in the army, although she herself had never been near any shot and shell. Kennedy’s most famous quote and one which still reverberates through the tattered army today was ‘this is not your father’s army.’
No, it sure as hell isn’t and that’s a big, big problem…”
Yeah…all my father’s Army did was win WWII and Korea!!!
Seriously, besides being as useless as the proverbial…
…Claudia Kennedy’s contribution to America’s national security posture is only rivaled by the idiocy of George Casey, another boil on our Military’s collective a*s:
Speaking of boils on the backside of the body politic urgently in need of lancing, borrowing a call from the playbook of his former wife’s boss, as Christine Rousselle reports at Townhall.com…
“Baltimore’s bike share system will be temporarily shut down later this week for about a month while stops and bikes undergo a series of security improvements.
…Upgrades to the bikes, according to the release, including “upgraded security features … as a response to isolated thefts this summer.”A Baltimore Sun report from early August found that Corps Logistics, the local company in charge of managing the bike share fleet, had to dedicate two employees solely to recovering lost and stolen bikes…”
We can only assume the CVS disgraced former-mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake (along with her moronic state attorney, Marilyn Mosby) gave Baltimore’s rioters “space to burn”…
