It’s Wednesday, September 6th, 2017…but before we begin, can anyoneplease help us understand the idiocy emanating from “our” side, as reported by FOX News?!?
“…Senator James Lankford (R-OK) said Monday that Americans “do not hold children legally accountable for the actions of their parents” in response to reports that President Trump will be ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) with a six-month delay.
“It is right for there to be consequences for those who intentionally entered this country illegally,” Lankford acknowledged. “However, we as Americans do not hold children legally accountable for the actions of their parents.” (Neither do we reward them!)
“We must confront the nation’s out-of-date immigration policy and finally resolve the issues of strong border enforcement and merit immigration,” Lankford added. “Policy reform must come from the American people through Congress. The Legislative and Executive Branch should put aside passivity and partisanship and finally modernize our immigration laws.”
House Speaker Paul Ryan has also signaled disapproval for Trump ending the program, telling a hometown radio station, “I actually don’t think he should do that, I believe that this is something that Congress has to fix.”
“President (Barack) Obama does not have the authority to do what he did … we’ve made that very clear,” Ryan continued. “Having said all of that, there are people who are in limbo. These are kids who know no other country, who were brought here by their parents and don’t know another home. And so I really do believe there that there needs to be a legislative solution.”
So, Mr. Speaker, take this opportunitytodo something about it, rather than just spouting hollow promises and trivial talking points. After all, isn’t this precisely the circumstance the President’s presenting you, particularly with a six-month delay in enactment?!?
Consider the truth contained in these next three observations: first Kurt Schlichter…
“…So, for the benefit of us suckers, basically Ryan was against DACA when it couldn’t be undone, but is now panicking when it can be undone because it might actually be undone…
…Gosh, this DACA two-step kind of reminds me of Obamacare and how gung-ho the True Conservatives were to repeal it when they couldn’t repeal it and how suddenly they turned ungung-ho when they actually could. Weird. If I was cynical, I’d say that it seems like the establishment GOP has been lying to our faces for years and years, but that couldn’t be true because our establishment betters have principles and stuff...”
…then Guy Benson…
“It’s worth reiterating that the legal jeopardy faced by these “children,” many of whom are now grown adults, is the fault of their parents, who brought them into this country in violation of our immigration laws. A follow-up Obama effort (“DAPA”) — which was thrown out by the judiciary as flagrantly unconstitutional — offered similar protections for the parents of the so-called DREAMers, i.e. the adults responsible for the unlawful migration.
…and lastly White House Chief of Staff John Kelly:
“Congress should’ve gotten its act together a lot longer ago.“
The DACA controversy is the perfect illustration of how poisonous Progressive politics have stood our democracy on its head. Barack Hussein Obama usurped his authority to enact an unconstitutional executive order, and anyone who disagrees with his action out of respect for the rule of law is branded by both The Left and their MSM shills as a heartless racist.
For what it’s worth, here’s what we believe should be in the bill Republicans need to pass:
(1). Neither the so-called DREAMers nor their parentswill be deported (assuming they have and maintain clean criminal records…other than already having illegally entering the United States).
(2). The border will be considered sealed; i.e., as of the date of the legislation the DREAMers are granted legal status, no such amnesty will be granted any future foreign nationals illegally in the country, and any illegals apprehended in the U.S. will be promptly deported.
(3). No more anchor babies.
(4). Both the DREAMers and their parents must get in line behind any legal immigrants in the country prior to the date of the legislation when applying for or receiving any government benefits, not to mention citizenship.
(5). All DREAMers must, when of age, successfully serve three years of active duty in America’s Armed Forces and pass the test for U.S. citizenship.
After all, as has been repeatedly represented by their backers, DREAMers knowno other homethan America, so they ought to be well-acquainted with our customs and history by now. Which doesn’t quite explain…
…why so many carry signs en Español.
Regardless, assuming they accede to our rather reasonable requests, welcome to America, amigos!
Now, here’s The Gouge!
First up, writing at Townhall.com, Bernie Goldberg instructs us in…
“…A few weeks ago, and 40 years after Fonzie jumped the shark, Newsweek came up with its own cheesy gimmick in an attempt to stay relevant. Abandoning any pretense of grown-up journalism, Newsweek plastered the words “Lazy Boy” on its cover with an illustration of President Trump sitting in a recliner covered in junk food.
Recliner. Lazy Boy. Get it? The words on the cover read: “Donald Trump is bored and tired. Imagine how bad he’d feel if he did any work.” Once upon a time, Newsweek was a serious news magazine whose editors would not allow their publication to resemble a comic book.
In 2001, when my book “Bias” came out, my focus was on liberal bias in the news and the refusal of mainstream journalists to either acknowledge its existence or try to tone it down. But now bias is my second biggest journalistic concern. Arrogance is nowNo. 1. The snobbery of too many journalists is beyond annoying. It’s repulsive. (As are so many of the “journalists” themselves.)
Take Stuart Rothenberg, a veteran political journalist and charter member of the Washington media elite. While President Trump was speaking at a rally in West Virginia not long ago, Rothenberg took to Twitter to let everyone know that “Lots of people in West Virginia can’t support themselves or speak English.” Look up the words “elite snob” in the dictionary and you’ll find a picture of Stuart Rothenberg.
“West Virginia ranks 42nd in percentage of high school graduates,” he tweeted. But as John Nolte reported on the Daily Wire: “According to a report dated April 2017 from the Department of Education, Rothenberg is lying. While the national high school graduation rate is 83 percent, West Virginia’s graduation rate sits at an impressive 87 percent, which elevates it well above such cherished left-wing states as California (82 percent), New York (79 percent), Washington (78 percent), Oregon (74 percent), Minnesota (82 percent), Rhode Island (83 percent), and Rothenberg’s precious Washington DC (69 percent).”
And finally, this from the sophisticated Rothenberg: “Of course they are hard-working. They mean well. Just close-minded, provincial, angry & easily misled.” If elitism and arrogance were crimes, Rothenberg would be behind bars doing 25 to life.
And imagine for a moment that Trump had held that rally in Texas instead of West Virginia. You just know that Rothenberg would be looking down his elitist nose at them too — and tweeting about how “easily misled” they were. After all, a lot of Texans voted for Donald Trump.
…I wonder if Rothenberg learned anything about the kind of people he apparently finds “provincial” from those images we saw coming out of Texas. So here’s a memo to Stuart Rothenberg and the sophisticates at Newsweek: At least when Fonzi jumped the shark it was kind of funny.“
Having read him, we can honestly represent, like Paul Krugman’s tired tripe, Rothenberg’s not even remotely amusing…let alone even the least bit accurate.

Conclusion first, facts second. That, allegedly, was the mentality of ex-FBI Director James Comey in dealing with Hillary Clinton’s e-mail scandal.Yet this revelation was ignored by ABC, CBS and NBC on Thursday and Friday. Comey, who was fired by Donald Trump in May, decided against criminal charges of Hillary Clinton before 17 interviews of witnesses were even complete. Fox News, MSNBC and CNN all highlighted the story.
Yet, despite a combined nine and a half hours of air time on Thursday night and Friday morning, the networks couldn’t be bothered. To be clear, the reason for ignoring this damning development WASN’T Hurricane Harvey. That natural disaster (deservedly so) garnered a lot of coverage.
But NBC’s Today, a four hour program, on Friday devoted four minutes and two seconds to finding the best new coffee maker. CBS This Morning looked at the future of Uber for three minutes and 53 seconds. (CBS News covered the story, but online.)
ABC’s Good Morning America promoted “Force Friday” for two minutes and 17 seconds. Force Friday celebrates the release of new Star Wars toys. ABC is owned by Disney, the company that owns the sci-fi franchise. GMA made sure to tell viewers they could purchase toys on Walmart.com, a sponsor of the show. What was that journalists were saying about collusion and shady connections between powerful forces?
Clearly, there was time for Comey on the networks.
…The ignoring of this twist in the Comey story is a contrast to the coverage of the ex-FBI Director’s congressional testimony. In June, excited CBS journalists touted,“historic” “history” that could shape U.S. “History.”
Thursday’s revelations were less historic, apparently…”
And, like anything originating from Stuart Rothenberg, unquestionably less than accurate.
Speaking of the less than accurate, Hillary, as James Freeman recounts at Best of the Web, is now blaming Bernie:
We found this summation from Reason‘s Ed Krayewski particularly pointed:
“In other words, Sanders did to Clinton what Democrats have done to their critics for years: Frame any worry about the costs and unintended consequences of a program as a lack of concern for the problem the program is supposed to address. After years(actually, decades!)of cultivating economic illiteracy, the party reaped the results.“
Since we’re on the subject of news for the illiterate, Socialism’s most dependable apologist (The Guardian) reports how, as regards the…
“The Russian president, Vladimir Putin, has warned that the escalating North Korean crisis could cause a “planetary catastrophe” and huge loss of life, and described US proposals for further sanctions on Pyongyang as “useless”.
“Ramping up military hysteria in such conditions is senseless; it’s a dead end,” he told reporters in China. “It could lead to a global, planetary catastrophe and a huge loss of human life. There is no other way to solve the North Korean nuclear issue, save that of peaceful dialogue.”…”
Peaceful dialogue…peaceful dialogue…
Like when Putin “talked” the Crimeans right out of their country…
…and continuestrying to talk Ukrainians…to their death…to this very day!
Which brings us to the latest installment of the Environmental Moment, courtesy today of Newsbusters.org, and this series of tweets recorded by Aly Nielsen which are well worth following, as a…
“Meteorologists and climatologists on Twitter criticized Newsweek Senior Writer Kurt Eichenwald after he claimed a “climate change equation” helped him make a prediction about Hurricane Irma. Eichenwald is also an MSNBC and Vanity Fair contributor and a New York Times best-selling author.
…“I’m not a scientist. I used a climate change equation &, using sea surface temps, predicted Irma intensity growth & timing. 100% correct,” Eichenwald Tweeted Sept. 5.
He then claimed if he could get those results, “maybe deniers should realize climatologists know more than they do.” After hurricane experts including Ryan Maue of WeatherBELL Analytics called his statement “bullshit,” and many others piled on, Eichenwald deleted the tweet. But not without lashing out at his critics…”
One has to admire the chutzpah…or deliberate ignorance…of a supposedly educated writer challenging the intelligence and/or intellectual honesty of a PhD candidate who cannot fathom…
…his higher math.
Which brings us appropriately enough, to today’s walk on The Lighter Side:
Then there’s this series of memes forwarded by Balls Cotton:
Finally, in the It’s Probably for the Best segment, FOX News reports there’s a…
The man who ran into Burning Man festival’s signature burning of a towering effigy has died, a sheriff in Nevada announced Sunday. Burning Man organizers said Aaron Joel Mitchell, 41, an attendee of the counter-culture festival, ran into the blaze at around 10:30 p.m. Saturday. Pershing County Sheriff Jerry Allen said the man ran through a human chain of security officers.
The festival culminates with the burning of a towering 40-foot effigy made of wood. Attendees have tried to run into the flames as a symbol of rebirth…”
Which leaves us curious: in a country where, thanks to The Left…
(1). Men can be women and women men, even switching to whatever gender suits their fancy on a given day; (2). Animals have more rights than unborn babies, who can be slaughtered in the womb for any reason whatsoever or no at all; (3). People can legally assist in someone’s suicide; and, (4). Any sense of morality and right or wrong is purely the product of personal preference.
…on what basis do security officers interfere with this woman’s right…
