It’s Wednesday, August 2nd, 2017…but before we begin, after happening upon these highlights of some relatively radical rapid ascents…

…we recalled none of them holds a candle to the unrestricted climb we executed out of Dobbins AFB, Georgia in a VF-124 F-14A back in 1980.  We’d show you the video, but then we’d have to kill you.

However, nothing we’ve ever seen or done compares to the power and maneuverability of the F-22:

Insane is right.

And since we’re on the subject of the insane, consider this quote from Matthew Continetti’s Comey’s People as featured in the WSJ‘s Notable & Quotable segment:

“It’s obvious [James] Comey was the one behind the stories of [President] Trump’s dishonesty and bad behavior. He admitted as much in front of the cameras in a remarkable exchange with Senator Susan Collins of Maine…The source for the New York Times article was “a good friend of mine who’s a professor at Columbia Law School,” Daniel Richman.

Comey said that, after Trump tweeted on May 12 that he’d better hope there aren’t “tapes” of their conversations, “I asked a friend of mine to share the content of the memo with a reporter. Didn’t do it myself, for a variety of reasons. But I asked him to, because I thought that might prompt the appointment of a special counsel. And so I asked a close friend of mine to do it.”

Every time I watch or read that exchange, I am amazed. Here is the former director of the FBI just flat-out admitting that, for months, he wrote down every interaction he had with the president of the United States because he wanted a written record in case the president ever fired or lied about him. And when the president did fire and lie about him, that director set in motion a series of public disclosures with the intent of not only embarrassing the president, but also forcing the appointment of a special counsel who might end up investigating the president for who knows what. And none of this would have happened if the president had not fired Comey or tweeted about him. He told the Senate that if Trump hadn’t dismissed him, he most likely would still be on the job.

Rarely, in my view, are high officials so transparent in describing how Washington works. Comey revealed to the world that he was keeping a file on his boss, that he used go-betweens to get his story into the press, that “investigative journalism” is often just powerful people handing documents to reporters to further their careers or agendas or even to get revenge. And as long as you maintain some distance from the fallout, and stick to the absolute letter of the law, you will come out on top, so long as you have a small army of nightingales singing to reporters on your behalf.

In other words, Comey is just as dirty as

And THAT’S saying something!

Now, here’s The Gouge!

First up, as the Washington Examiner reports, Jeff Flake recently demonstrated anew why his last name is such an appropriate moniker:

Jeff Flake condemns conservatives for creating and ‘rationalizing’ Trump

There must be something in Arizona’s water!

“Sen. Jeff Flake believes conservatives helped create the conditions for the rise of President Trump and are emboldening “instability” in the White House by not speaking out more. “We created him, and now we’re rationalizing him. When will it stop?” Flake wrote in his new book, “Conscience of a Conservative,” an excerpt of which Politico published on Monday.

He criticized conservatives who “mocked Barack Obama’s failure to deliver on his pledge to change the tone in Washington even as we worked to assist with that failure.” He questioned Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s promise to make Obama a one-term president, rather than prioritizing a conservative policy agenda. He blamed conservatives for playing a part in legitimizing false attacks against Obama questioning his U.S. citizenship. (Name ONE is a position of power or influence at the time; and The Donald don’t count!) And he said his party has not done enough to contest some of Trump’s behavior, policies, and rhetoric…”

Another Arizona RINO who, after posing as a Conservative to win high office, is willing to say anything or do anything…including throwing his own party under the bus…to stay there.

So here’s to you, Jeff:

And a particularly odiferous, McCain-like bag of douche at that!

By the way, as James Freeman notes at Best of the Web, like the passage of Obamacare, here’s how Dimocrats define “changing the tone of Washington”:

Schumer’s ‘Compromise’: No Tax Cuts

Senate Democrats save negotiating time by ruling out everything not on their agenda.

“Hey, Flake; stick this up your bipartisan backside…sucker!!!”

They don’t call Republicans “The Party of Stupid” for nuthin’!

Speaking of odiferous bags of douche, here’s a real shocker courtesy of FOX News, as James Rosen details…

Pentagon investigators find ‘security risks’ in government’s immigrant recruitment program, ‘infiltration’ feared

Defense Department investigators have discovered “potential security risks” in a Pentagon program that has enrolled more than 10,000 foreign-born individuals into the U.S. armed forces since 2009, Fox News has learned exclusively, with sources on Capitol Hill and at the Pentagon expressing alarm over “foreign infiltration” and enrollees now unaccounted for

After more than a year of investigation, the Pentagon’s inspector general recently issued a report – its contents still classified but its existence disclosed here for the first time – identifying serious problems with Military Accessions Vital to the National Interest (MAVNI), a DOD program that provides immigrants and non-immigrant aliens with an expedited path to citizenship in exchange for military service

Defense Department officials said the program is still active but acknowledged that new applications have been suspended…”

Anyone who didn’t see this coming a mile away…and many years ago…

…was either not paying attention…or party to murder.

For more on the subject of government-sanctioned murder, we turn to the latest by David French writing at NRO, as he correctly suggests…

It’s Time to Deal with the Police Threat to the Second Amendment

Police raid the wrong home? If the innocent homeowner is lawfully armed, he could end up dead.

It’s happened again. Police officers in Southaven, Miss., were trying to serve an arrest warrant for aggravated assault on a man named Samuel Pearman, but instead they showed up at a trailer owned by an auto mechanic named Ismael Lopez. It was nighttime, and according to his wife, Lopez went to the door to investigate a noise. She stayed in bed.

What happened next was tragic. According to the police, Lopez opened his door and a pit bull charged out. One officer opened fire on the dog, the other officer fired on the man allegedly holding a gun in the doorway, pointing it at the men approaching his home. As the Washington Post reported on July 26, it was only after the smoke cleared that the officers made their “heart-dropping discovery: They were at the wrong home.”

Lopez died that night. Just like Andrew Scott died in his entrance hall, gun in hand, when the police pounded on the wrong door late one night, Scott opened it, saw shadowy figures outside, and started to retreat back into his house. Police opened fire, and he died in seconds.

Angel Mendez was more fortunate. He “only” lost his leg when the police barged into his home without a warrant and without announcing themselves. They saw his BB gun and opened fire, inflicting grievous wounds.

If past precedent holds, it’s likely that the officers who killed Ismael Lopez will be treated exactly like the officers in the Scott and Mendez cases. They won’t be prosecuted for crimes, and they’ll probably even be immune from civil suit, with the court following precedents holding that the officers didn’t violate Lopez’s “clearly established” constitutional rights when they approached the wrong house. After all, officers have their own rights of self-defense. What, exactly, are they supposed to do when a gun is pointed at their face?

In other words, the law typically allows officers to shoot innocent homeowners who are lawfully exercising their Second Amendment rights and then provides these same innocent victims with no compensation for the deaths and injuries that result. This is unacceptable, it’s unjust, and it undermines the Second Amendment…”

Enough is enough; just as the skipper of a Navy ship is responsible for what happens whether they’re on the bridge or no, it’s about time police were held accountable for what goes down on their watch.

And in the Environmental Moment, as The Daily Caller records, when it comes to the Environazis, it’s the same scam, different day:

Australia Weather Bureau Caught Tampering With Climate Numbers

“Holy East Anglia University, Batman!”

Australian scientists at the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) ordered a review of temperature recording instruments after the government agency was caught tampering with temperature logs in several locations.

Agency officials admit that the problem with instruments recording low temperatures likely happened in several locations throughout Australia, but they refuse to admit to manipulating temperature readings

Meteorologist Lance Pidgeon watched the 13 degrees Fahrenheit Goulburn recording from July 2 disappear from the bureau’s website. The temperature readings fluctuated briefly and then disappeared from the government’s website. “The temperature dropped to minus 10 (13 degrees Fahrenheit), stayed there for some time and then it changed to minus 10.4 (14 degrees Fahrenheit) and then it disappeared,” Pidgeon said, adding that he notified scientist Jennifer Marohasy about the problem, who then brought the readings to the attention of the bureau.

The bureau would later restore the original 13 degrees Fahrenheit reading after a brief question and answer session with Marohasy.“The bureau’s quality control system, designed to filter out spurious low or high values was set at minus 10 minimum for Goulburn which is why the record automatically adjusted,” a bureau spokeswoman told reporters Monday. BOM added that there are limits placed on how low temperatures could go in some very cold areas of the country.

Bureaus Chief Executive Andrew Johnson told Australian Environment Minister Josh Frydenberg that the failure to record the low temperatures at Goulburn in early July was due to faulty equipment. A similar failure wiped out a reading of 13 degrees Fahrenheit at Thredbo Top on July 16, even though temperatures at that station have been recorded as low as 5.54 degrees Fahrenheit.

Failure to observe the low temperatures had “been interpreted by a member of the community in such a way as to imply the bureau sought to manipulate the data record,” Johnson said, according to The Australian. I categorically reject this implication.”

Marohasy, for her part, told reporters that Johnson’s claims are nearly impossible to believe given that there are screen shots that show the very low temperatures before being “quality assured” outBOM has been put under the microscope before for similar manipulations. The agency was accused in 2014 of tampering with the country’s temperature record to make it appear as if temperatures had warmed over the decades, according to reports in August 2014.

Marohasey claimed at the time that BOM’s adjusted temperature records are “propaganda” and not science. She analyzed raw temperature data from places across Australia, compared them to BOM data, and found the agency’s data created an artificial warming trend. Marohasey said BOM adjustments changed Aussie temperature records from a slight cooling trend to one of “dramatic warming” over the past century.

Folks, there you have it: the junk science of anthropogenic global warming,…er,…climate change…in a nut shell!
