It’s Monday, August 1, 2016…and due to the extended celebration of our middle son Mike’s 31st birthday, here’s a somewhat abbreviated version of The Gouge!
We lead off the first offering of August with a follow-up to this Victor Davis Hanson quote from the July 29th edition…

Yes, it’s a full-length documentary; but the subject matter is of SUCHsupreme importance, not only for a complete and accurate understanding of the “why” behind Hillary’s high email crimes and what the entire Clinton clan is truly all about, but to arm yourself against arguments proffered by Progressives who’ve nothing to offer but lies and feelings, you really have to view it in full:
Without fear of accusations of hyperbole or exaggeration, their capacity for greed and avarice never ceases to amaze!!! The entire family is literallywithout shame and utterly beneath contempt…along with those who continue to support them.
Look, we understand people seeking wealth; but to do so at the expense of the poorest people on the planet is sickening; as is Hillary’s continuing claim to represent…

It all goes to prove, as emphasized by the latest patent prevarication from the daughter of the Father of Falsehoods, there are lies, damned lies…
…and then there’s the Clintons, aka, damned liars!!! As we explained to TLJ earlier today, we’re commanded to pray for their salvation, NOT the success of their programs and policies!
Since we’re on the subject of those playing fast and loose with the truth, as Townhall.com‘s Cortney O’Brien reports:
Both the Republican and Democratic National conventions featured remarks from retired army generals. At the former, retired Army Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn urged voters to choose Donald Trump in November so we can finally overcome political correctness. A week later, former Marine Gen. John Allen addressed the DNC by insisting Hillary Clinton is the best leader to stabilize international relations.
Both of their respective audiences were captivated by their remarks. As for retired Army Gen. Martin Dempsey, he was not impressed. In a letter to The Washington Post, Dempsey explained why he thinks it’s unacceptable for his fellow retired generals to get involved in a presidential election.
“As generals, they have an obligation to uphold our apolitical traditions,” Dempsey wrote. “They have just made the task of their successors — who continue to serve in uniform and are accountable for our security — more complicated. It was a mistake for them to participate as they did. It was a mistake for our presidential candidates to ask them to do so.”
“The military is not a military prize,” he added.
When ABC’s George Stephanopoulos asked Allen to respond to Dempsey’s critique, Allen said he felt like he had no choice, worrying what a Trump presidency would mean for national security.
As for Flynn, he had even been considered as a running mate for Trump and said he was “honored” to be considered for the role. In other words, he won’t be keeping mum about his political preferences anytime soon.
While Flynn’s remarks constituted pure political pandering, Allen’s went well beyond simply angling for a job in the next Administration and was, at its core, a groundless conclusion based on no discernible facts whatsoever in evidence.
Like almost every other of his political policies, how Trump ultimately manages America’s foreign affairs is a complete unknown. He has no actual record on which to base any conclusions whatsoever, let alone the giant leap of logic the good J.R. Allen executed.
For unlike The Donald, Hillary has a foreign policy resume open to review; and how J.R. Allen can consider one dismal irrefutable failure after another over Hillary’s four years as the remotest recommendation for promotionbeggars the imagination. Unless, like Hillary, Allen’s willing to risk national security for personal power and profit.
Though, in the interest of fairness, we should observe Martin Dempsey did more damage to America’s national security and military preparedness while on active duty than every retired general in history combined! We should also note we were acquainted with J.R. Allen during our days at the U.S. Naval Academy, where he was one year our senior; and this is NOT the man of principle and integrity we remember.
But the mere possibility of additional power corrupts absolutely! Hence the good general’s involvement with a modrately-attractive woman…
…NOT his wife! Sorry, but it’s our policy to consider the only the opinions of those not ruled by their Johnson’s.
Meanwhile, appropriately enough, back at the ranch, the latest would-be leader of The Gang Who Still Can’t Shoot Straight demonstrates anew how his aim is in fact worse than any of his predecessors:
“What he cites in the name of Islam, and all that — that is not Islam at all! I wish he would have, somebody would have put something in his head that these are terrorists, these are criminals, these folks have nothing to do with Islam.”
“…Pressed by Stephanopoulos to name the sacrifices he’d made for his country, Trump said: “I think I’ve made a lot of sacrifices. I work very, very hard. I’ve created thousands and thousands of jobs, tens of thousands of jobs, built great structures. I’ve had tremendous success.I think I’ve done a lot.”…”
SERIOUSLY?!? Talk about a tone-deaf dimwit; the man thinks on his feet about as fast as…
…a deer in headlights. Rather than empathize with the Khan’s loss, then follow up with a reasoned, cogent defense of why a revaluation of our nation’s refugee policies is prudent under current circumstances, this bombastic buffoon characteristically goes on the attack!
This despite extensive evidence which effectively highlights Hillary’s hypocrisy. Exhibit “A”, courtesy of a WSJ reprint from a New York Sun entitled…
Then there’s this from the Associated Press, featuring the papal equivalent of Barack Hussein Obama; and which gives us yet another reason to be thankful we’re not Roman Catholic:
“Pope Francis encouraged hundreds of thousands of young people at a global gathering Sunday to “believe in a new humanity” that is stronger than evil and refuses to see borders as barriers.
…God, said Francis in his final homily of the pilgrimage, “demands of us real courage, the courage to be more powerful than evil, by loving everyone, even our enemies.” “People may judge you to be dreamers, because you believe in a new humanity, one that rejects hatred between peoples, one that refuses to see borders as barriers and can cherish its own traditions without being self-centered or small-minded,” Francis told his flock.
…Earlier in his pilgrimage, Francis had expressed dismay that many people and places aren’t welcoming enough to refugees or those fleeing poverty in their homelands…”
Thus those who cherish their nation’s identity, advocate respect for national borders and the rule of law…not to mention value national security and the rights of their country’s own citizens…are “self-centered or small-minded”. Brings to mind the almost-overnight vilification of those who bitterly cling to the Biblical view of homosexuality, marriage and…
…adultery!
We challenge the Socialist Sovereign of the State of Vatican City…who’s protected by a wall and 24/7 armed security…to show us anywhere Scripture even remotely suggests humanity is anything BUT intrinsically evil, absent the saving grace of Jesus Christ; let alone where it says a nation is not entitled to defend its own laws, borders and citizens, as the vast majority of Poles prefer.
Will all due respect to the feelings and loyalties of our Catholic brethren, this isn’t Christianity, it’s Communism; because Jorge Mario Bergoglio doesn’t preach Biblical principles, he espouses Marxist doctrine.
On The Lighter Side…
Finally, we’ll call it a wrap with a particularly disturbing story straight from the pages of The Crime Blotter:
“A 14-year-old Wisconsin girl tried to kill her brother’s girlfriend, slitting her throat and telling her during the attack that she was a psychopath looking for her first kill, according to investigators. Kali Jade Bookey of New Richmond, a city of 8,400 people about 35 miles east of Minneapolis, was charged as an adult Thursday with attempted first-degree intentional homicide.
According to a criminal complaint, which the Eau Claire Leader-Telegram first reported about, Bookey called the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday morning to report that two men in a green pickup truck had tried to abduct her while she was riding her bike. She told the men that her brother’s girlfriend was home alone and they should take her instead. Deputies responded to the girlfriend’s trailer and found her in a bedroom bleeding profusely. The 15-year-old girl was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
There, she told investigators that Bookey had attacked her. She said she was sleeping in her bedroom when Bookey, dressed in black, appeared in her room and put her hands over her mouth.A struggle ensued and Bookey punched her in the face multiple times and broke two bowls over her head.Bookey used one of the bowl shards to cut her and slit her throat, she said.
The victim said Bookey asked her if she wanted to die or bleed out, so she opted to bleed out, the complaint states. Bookey told the victim she had been biking by her house and noting the times when she was alone, and she described herself as a crazy psychopath looking for her first kill, saying she probably would kill again. Bookey then told her to “have a nice afterlife” and left the trailer…”
Are we the only one thinking Bookey’s the perfect candidate for Pope Francis to invite to the Vatican as his next houseguest?!?
