It’s Friday, November 20th, 2015…but before we begin, one quick question: were we a leading Congressional Dimocrat, Rahmbo’s opportunistic wisdom notwithstanding, would we advise our fellows the Syrian refugee debacle is the one crisis…
“Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid (Nev.) says a House bill suspending the resettlement of Syrian refugees, slated for action Thursday, will not make it to President Obama’s desk. Reid said at a press conference that Democrats will block the legislation that requires the secretary of Homeland Security to affirm to Congress that every refugee being admitted is not a security threat. “The problem is not with refugees,” Reid said. “I don’t think we’ll be dealing with it over here.” When asked about the prospect of Obama vetoing the legislation, Reid said, “Don’t worry, it won’t get passed. Next question?”“
…let go to waste?
Now that the House has passed the legislation with veto-proof, bipartisan support, we’ll be curious to see how many Senate Dimocrats are willing to keep their political futures hitched to the rapidly falling stars of B. Hussein Obama and his lapdog, Harry Reid.
When asked the likely penalty Dimocrats would pay in 2016 for opposing the bill, one senior Republican aide in the House said: “We’ll crucify them”. He was of course referring to the political price; but should ISIS operatives successfully launch another terror attack on U.S. soil between now and next November, Dimocrats may well find themselves quite literally hanging from trees…or at the very least run out of town on rails!
Now, here’s The Gouge!
First up, courtesy of Politico, just when you thought The Left couldn’t lurch any lower…
Kerry sees ‘rationale’ in Charlie Hebdo murders, unlike Friday’s attacks in Paris
“Secretary of State John Kerry suggested on Tuesday that there was a “rationale” for the assault on satirical French weekly Charlie Hebdo, unlike the more recent attacks in Paris.
“There’s something different about what happened from Charlie Hebdo, and I think everybody would feel that,” Kerry said in Paris, according to a transcript of his remarks. “There was a sort of particularized focus and perhaps even a legitimacy in terms of — not a legitimacy, but a rationalethat you could attach yourself to somehow and say, OK, they’re really angry because of this and that.”
“This Friday was absolutely indiscriminate. It wasn’t to aggrieve one particular sense of wrong. It was to terrorize people,” he continued…”
As Charles W. Cooke incredulously queried: Has he lost his mind?!?
More likely, just like his boss, his mind simply hasn’t been open…
…for a long…
…long time!
As James Taranto noted…
“The attack on Charlie Hebdo, no less than the attacks last week, were intended “to terrorize people.” But the Charlie Hebdo attacks were also intended to terrorize peopleinto silence. It was an attack on free speech as well as on freedom and Western civilization more generally. Kerry’s rationalizing of it is arguably the most un-American thing he has ever said in public—and that’s saying a lot, given that he made a name for himself slandering American military servicemen.“
Meanwhile, as Breitbart reports, not once…not twice…but three times since The Obamao’s latest slander, reality immediately intrudes to expose the lies behind his prevaricative propaganda:
To borrow a phrase from Cordell Hull, in all our sixty years, we have never seen a President so completely consumed by infamous falsehood and distortion. His words are those of an ill-disciplined child throwing a temper tantrum upon not getting his way. He’s not just un-Presidential, he’s utterly beyond belief, as noted by both Guy Benson…
“Here we have the President of the United States demagoguing his domestic opponents, while abroad, in the wake of a devastating terrorist attack against the West. As virtually everyone has noticed by now, Obama reserves his most impassioned denunciations for his political foes; the massacre in Paris was a “setback,” but damn these Republicans and their rhetoric.
First of all, it’s preposterous to suggest that a roiling debate at home over refugee vetting is ISIS’ most potent recruiting tool — but considering the source, it’s not a surprising assessment. Barack Obama has been comprehensively wrong about ISIS at virtually every turn. He failed to anticipate their precipitous rise as a direct consequence of his reckless withdrawal from Iraq. He failed to recognize the threat they posed when he drew and abandoned his “red line” against Assad. As they gained force, recruits and territory, he sniffed that ISIS’ potency was equivalent to that of a “javyee team,” then tried to pretend he’d never said that. And hours before they pulled off a series of sophisticated, deadly assaults in a Western capital, he described their reach as “contained.” His administration is now assuring us that the organization lacks the capacity to perpetrate an attack on US soil — so sleep well, America…“
and Michael Barone:
“He could have acknowledged people’s qualms as legitimate and argued at greater length, as former Ambassador to Iraq and Syria Ryan Crocker did in the Wall Street Journal, that we have processes in place that would effectively screen out terrorists. Or he could have proposed, like Speaker Paul Ryan, a pause before accepting any.
But that would have meant not taking cheap shots against the political opposition at home — the people who really make him angry.“
And as the Daily Mail reminds us, it’s not like it hasn’t already happened:
“US authorities have charged at least 66 men and women with ISIS-related terror plots on American soil – including a handful of refugees, Daily Mail Online can reveal.
…Six Bosnian immigrants, three from Missouri, two from Illinois and one from New York, were charged in February with sending money and military equipment to extremist groups in Syria including ISIS and the Al Qaeda-affiliated Al-Nusra Front.
…They fled the war in Yugoslavia to enjoy new lives in the US – but are now accused of conspiring to help its deadliest enemies…”
So forgive us for not trusting the most inept Administration in American history to accurately identify ISIS operatives. More importantly, to put it mildly…
Okay, full disclosure: we were there long before this Marxist was ever elected. Perhaps, as our good friend and frequent contributor Bill Meisen suggests, we spread a rumor ISIS members are all closet Republicans, and they’re attempting to smuggle thousands of their like-minded, Conservative compatriots into the country under the guise of a refugee crisis it might finally get The Obamao to react. After all, Republicans are the real enemy!
We’ll leave the final word on the subject to Daniel Greenfield, courtesy of Truth Revolt and Jeff Foutch:
“…Any strategy that Obama offers against ISIS will consist of more of the same lies and word games. His apologists will now debate the meaning of “containment” and whether he succeeded in defining it so narrowly on his own terms that he can claim to have accomplished it. But it really doesn’t matter what his meaning of “containment” or “is” is. Failure by any other name smells just as terrible.
Obama responded to ISIS by denying it’s a threat. Once that stopped being a viable strategy, he began to stall for time. And he’s still stalling for time, not to beat ISIS, but to wait until ISIS falls out of the headlines. That has been his approach to all his scandals from ObamaCare to the IRS to the VA.
Lie like crazy and wait for people to forget about it and turn their attention to something else.
This is a containment strategy, but not for ISIS. It’s a containment strategy for America.Obama isn’t trying to bottle up ISIS except as a means of bottling up America. He doesn’t see the Caliph of the Islamic State as the real threat, but the average American who watches the latest beheading on the news and wonders why his government doesn’t do something about it. To the Left it isn’t the Caliph of ISIS who starts the wars we ought to worry about, but Joe in Tennessee, Bill in California or Pete in Minnesota.
That is why Obama sounds bored when talking about beating ISIS, but heats up when the conversation turns to fighting Republicans. It’s why Hillary Clinton named Republicans, not ISIS, as her enemy.
The Left is not interested in making war on ISIS.It is too busy making war on America.“
We…couldn’t…agree…MORE!!!
In a related item, writing at NRO, Kevin Williamson warns agains the rise of…
“…The idiot children running amok on our college campuses right now aren’t exactly the Red Guards — they’re far too weak and wishy-washy for that.Call them the Pink Guards.
The Pink Guards have declared war on freedom of speech, demanding official retribution against those expressing even such innocuous sentiments as “all lives matter.” Indeed, they have declared complaints about the suppression of free speech to be a form of speech that must be suppressed, with students at the University of Missouri, the nation’s 103rd most prestigious institution of higher learning, demanding that students responsible for such counterrevolutionary activities be sent to reeducation camps (“required to attend extensive training for racial and cultural competency”). Protesters at Dartmouth physically assaulted students trying to study in the library and denounced them as “filthy white f***s.” At the University of Missouri, Professor Melissa Click physically assaulted a student journalist filming in a public space, and the university, which is run by feckless cowards, has taken no action against her.
…It isn’t just the universities, of course. In the summer of 2014 Senator Harry Reid led Senate Democrats in voting to repeal the First Amendment so that the power of the state could be used to suppress political speech they find inconvenient, up to and including locking up those who refuse to play by Democrats’ debate rules. In the state of New York, the office of Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is attempting to prosecute Exxon for believing and saying the wrong things about global warming, and for providing financial support to groups that oppose policies such as the Kyoto protocols. That is part of a long campaign by the Left, from imbecilic writers for Gawker to tenured professors to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., to criminalize disagreement about global warming.
…Remember that the creed of these so-called liberals, who are in no way liberal, has for a generation been: “You can’t legislate morality.” Apparently, you can legislate anything you please, Bill of Rights and everything else be damned.
The Pink Guards don’t have the guts that the Red Guards had. But they are no less totalitarian. They should be understood as such, and met with ridicule, mockery, and defeat at every turn.“
For those tempted to say such Educated Idiots don’t pose a real threat to the Republic…
…think again.
And since we’re on the subject of dire threats to the Republic, as Judicial Watch informs us, the Dimocratic equivalent of the Wicked Witch of the West is by every indication as antithetically opposed to the Constitution as the tyrant she hopes to supplant:
“In what appears to be a first for a serious presidential contender, Hillary Clinton’s campaign is going after five comedians who made fun of the former Secretary of State in standup skits at a popular Hollywood comedy club.
A video of the short performance, which is less than three minutes, is posted on the website of the renowned club, Laugh Factory, and the Clinton campaign has tried to censor it.Besides demanding that the video be taken down, the Clinton campaign has demanded the personal contact information of the performers that appear in the recording. This is no laughing matter for club owner Jamie Masada, a comedy guru who opened Laugh Factory more than three decades ago and has been instrumental in launching the careers of many famous comics. “They threatened me,” Masada told Judicial Watch. “I have received complaints before but never a call like this, threatening to put me out of business if I don’t cut the video.”…”
As Voltaire so succinctly put it:
Can you imagine a worse fit for the Oval Office?!?
Okay…all that many worse fits?!?
On the Lighter Side…
Finally, courtesy of Chris Wilson and the U.K.’s Telegraph, if you’ve ever wondered what quirk of nature enables men able to become Liberals, wonder no longer:
“…As part of a study of 2,412 people (50% men/50%c women), male participants were asked if they frequently suffered the same common side effects of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) that women experience during their menstrual cycle, including tiredness, cramps and increased sensitivity.
And whilst 26% of men revealed that they did experience these feelings on a regular basis, perhaps a more shocking statistic is that 58% of their female partners believed them.
…Of those who didn’t believe their partners, 33% admitted to telling their partner to “man up”…”
At which point their “male” partners cried inconsolably, complained about being victims of micro-aggression and demanded a “safe space”…whereupon the females threw the sorry-assed metrosexuals out on the street, dressed up in their most provocative ensemble and drove to the nearest bar frequented by Naval Aviators to find a REAL man!
His real enemy isn’t the Caliph of ISIS, but the ordinary American.
