The “gentle giant”: myth versus reality.

“A march to mark the anniversary of the death of 18-year-old Michael Brown has begun in Ferguson, Missouri. The march Sunday afternoon started at the site where Brown, who was black and unarmed, was fatally shot by Ferguson officer Darren Wilson on Aug. 9, 2014. Brown’s father, Michael Brown Sr., was leading the march, holding hands with others.

A grand jury and the U.S. Department of Justice declined to prosecute Wilson, (Duh…’cuz he was beyond any reasonable doubt, indeed even a shadow of a doubt, INNOCENT!!!) who resigned in November, but the shooting touched off a national “Black Lives Matter” movement…”

Black Lives Matter is the very embodiment of modern Liberalism; as, like every other Leftist program, policy or movement ever initiated, it’s based on a LIE!  Everybody knows it, but few, particularly in the political class, are willing to call this particular spade a spade.

Take the environmental movement: birthed by the falsehoods set forth in Silent Spring, its first “victory”, the utterly unnecessary and unsupportable ban on DDT, has cost the lives of tens of millions of malaria victims in the Third World.  And now, through the junk science of anthropogenic global warming, it seeks to suck untold trillions from the world economy with no discernible effect whatsoever on global temperatures, while further impoverishing billions of the planet’s poor in the process.  Thus, those they claim to champion continue to bear the consequences of their ill-advised, ill-informed and altogether asinine ideas. 

As Conservative MP Daniel Hannan once observed, Liberalism represents “the elevation of motive over outcome”.  Who cares if every single Progressive policy supposed to eradicate poverty has actually aided its advance?  They meant well!  You not only lost the health insurance policy you loved, but are now forced to pay three times as much for an inferior plan?  Sorry; it (supposedly!) looked good on paper!  Oh, and though they violated every long-standing legislative procedure in passing this monstrosity, not to mention enacted a blatantly unconstitutional law, they did it with the best of intentions!

Being a Liberal not only means you never have to admit you’re wrong, mountains of facts and studies to the contrary notwithstanding, it means never even having to say you’re sorry for causing the deaths countless millions, and perpetuating the suffering and misery of hundreds of millions, if not billions, more. 

Thus does the definition of a woman’s “right to choose” omit the responsibility not to hop from bed to bed with the frequency of a cheap ham radio in the first place, but permits the dismemberment of the unborn and the sale of their organs after the fact.

Meanwhile, as detailed in our Quote of the Day above, having sown the wind, Socialists…er,…”Liberals” are reaping the inevitable whirlwind:

Protesters shut down Bernie Sanders rally

“Protesters who claimed affiliation with the Black Lives Matter movement stormed the stage during a rally for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) in Seattle on Saturday, taking over the microphone and forcing Sanders to leave without ever speaking.

Moments after Sanders took the stage at Westlake Park, two women and one man climbed the stage and confronted the Democratic presidential candidate, demanding a chance to speak. After several moments of confusion and confrontation, an event organizer took the microphone and said the protesters would be allowed to speak before Sanders. Some in the crowd booed. Some in the crowd jeered the protesters and yelled “get off the stage,” but others replied “let her talk.” At times, shouts of “arrest her” were audible.

One protester, who identified herself as Marissa Johnson, began by saying, “I was going to tell Bernie how racist this city is — with all of its progressives — but you’ve already done that for me. Thank you.”

…Johnson requested four-and-a-half minutes of silence from the crowd, to honor the four-and-a-half hours Brown allegedly laid dead in the street after being killed. After the four-and-a-half minutes, protesters did not relinquish the stage…”

Several thoughts come to mind, not necessarily in this order.  (1). We’re shocked…SHOCKED…these supposed Progressive protestors didn’t keep their promise; (2). We say “supposed” because we wouldn’t be a bit surprised to learn, even were they members of Black Lives Matter, they’re travel arrangements were made and paid for by Hillary Clinton via George Soros; and (3). Bernie’s failure to take these Black bulls by the balls and give his speech over them, or have them escorted off the stage, tells you all you need to know about the craven nature of a Sanders presidency: he’d make Jimmy Carter look like Ronaldus Maximus.

Trump: A Mismatch for the GOP

Conservatives are more focused than ever on substance and consistency.

“…He’s not conservative. Remember all those recent primaries in which Republican voters fired sitting legislators for being too wimpy on taxes or health care or spending? Mr. Trump makes the losers look good. He’s on record in favor of single-payer health care, and on Thursday night praised it again in other countries. He’s said he likes gun control; higher taxes and eminent domain. He has said he’s pro-choice, against a flat tax, and opposed to free trade. He has personally given money to help elect pretty much every politician Republicans view as a threat to the Western world: Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer. Imagine the pitchforks in New Hampshire if Chris Christie had this track record.

…None of this is to say that Mr. Trump didn’t have a right to be on stage debating. Just not this particular stage, at this time, in this party. He isn’t the culmination of the new conservative movement; he’s its wrecking ball.“

In The Donald’s own words, we hear the vituperative invective with which H. Ross Perot sunk Bush I in 1998…and ushered in 8 years of Der Shlickmeister:

If I’m the nominee, I will pledge I will not run as an independent. But — and I am discussing it with everybody, but I’m, you know, talking about a lot of leverage. We want to win, and we will win. But I want to win as the Republican. I want to run as the Republican nominee.”

In all seriousness, WTF does that even mean?!?  And at least Perot had the defense of opposing a sitting President who’d broken a solemn promise:
