It’s Wednesday, January 7th, 2015…but before we begin, a brief thought on one of the most despicable comments we’ve ever heard from anyone, including Liberal Dimocrats:
Democratic New York Congressman Charlie Rangel said on MSNBC’s “The Ed Show” Monday that when he served in Korea, he didn’t feel anything about seeing dead bodies… unless they “looked like [him].” “I was in combat and I’m telling you, I saw more dead people,” the Congressman said. “But I never was moved until I saw dead people that looked like me in my uniform. And it does make a difference.”
You tax-evading, lying, hypocritical, race-baiting piece of human excrement; really?
No…REALLY?!? Consider this quote from Hal Moore’s We Were Soldiers Once…and Young:
“Crandall (CMH-winner Bruce “Ancient Serpent 6” Crandall) now dropped his Huey, loaded with casualties, onto the red dirt stript at Plei Me. “When we hit the ground at Plei Me we were met by medics and the Infantry troops still waiting to be lifted into X-Ray. They removed the dead and wounded from my bird – and this act is engraved in my mind deeper than any other experience in my tow tours Vietnam. A huge black enlisted man, clad only in shorts and boots, hand bigger than dinner plates, reached into my helicopter to pick up one of the dead white soldiers. He had tears streaming down his face and he tenderly cradled that dead soldier to his chest as he walked slowly from the aircraft to the medical station. I never knew if the man he picked up was his buddy or not. I suspect not. His grief was for a fallen comrade and for the agony that violent death brings to those who witness it.””
Race only makes a difference if the color of one’s skin is more important to the individual than the uniform he’s wearing. This is the mindset that epitomizes modern Liberalism and the Dimocratic Party.
Any questions? No…really; ANY QUESTIONS?!?
Now, here’s The Gouge!
First up, the WSJ‘s Mary O’Grady details how anyone who believed The Obamao’s Cuba contrivance actually involved a quid pro quo from the Castro brothers were taken…yet AGAIN:
“Who and where are the 53 Cuban political prisoners that President Obama promised would be freed by Havana as part of a deal to liberate three convicted Cuban spies serving lengthy sentences in the U.S.?
I asked the State Department this last week. State referred me to the White House. White House officials declined to provide the list of names citing “concern that publicizing it would make it more difficult to ensure that Cuba follows through, and continues with further steps in the future.” Bottom line: The U.S. government cannot confirm that they have been released and is not certain they’re going to be released, even though the three Cuban spies have already been returned.
A government official told me that keeping the names of the 53 quiet will give Cuba the opportunity to release them as a sovereign measure, rather than at the behest of the U.S., and that this could allow for additional releases. In other words, the Castros are sensitive boys who throw despotic tantrums when their absolute power is questioned. Asking them to keep their word is apparently a trigger.
Mr. Obama was destined to have trouble changing Cuba policy. Nixon went to China. But “Obama goes to Havana”? That sounds like stand-up comedy. A man with some humility might have prepared for the challenge. Mr. Obama did not. Now, little by little, what he says he got in the “negotiations” seems to be evaporating while what he gave away appears reckless…”
Was there ever a question?!? But if you thought The Dear Misleader’s Cuban concerto totally tone-deaf, wait until he finally finishes writing his Iranian overture; it’s a requiem!
In a related item, Victor Davis Hanson offers his observations on…
“…Recently the president hinted that one day the United States might open an embassy in Iran, given his hopes that he can achieve a breakthrough deal with the Iranian theocracy that might lead to new mutual understanding. Unfortunately, the theocracy in Iran probably sees American well-meant outreach as appeasement that will fast-track their efforts to get a bomb — and with it a new Middle East hegemony. If deadlines to stop enrichment in the past were negotiable, if tough sanctions were relaxed, if America was silent when demonstrators took on the theocracy, why would Iran now assume that anything the U.S. advised should be taken very seriously?
Obama unilaterally and by executive order ceased the half-century U.S. isolation of Cuba — but without achieving any mutual concessions from the tyrannical Castro regime. After six years of empty red lines and deadlines in the Middle East, and prisoner swaps from Guantanamo Bay for a U.S. military deserter, the impression grows that the United States will do anything in the short term to alleviate tensions, without much worry about the consequences in the years to follow.
Years ago Obama promised to withdraw all U.S. forces from Afghanistan, regardless of events on the ground. Now they are almost gone. But the ascendant Taliban is responding not with commensurate concessions. Instead, it is confident that there will soon be no obstacle to overrunning Afghanistan and returning it to the medieval theocracy that once hosted Osama bin Laden as he planned 9/11. Hundreds of thousands of Afghans who took seriously Western liberalization and reform will soon likely flee for their lives to places like Bakersfield or Minneapolis — or end up dead as the country sinks to the status of a post-American Iraq or Libya.
The more the United States cuts it defense budget to historic lows not seen in over a half century, the more the administration talks of outreach, the more America boasts of its smart diplomacy and soft power, the more in the next two years there will be a likelihood of war. Obama might have been able to get away with appeasing our enemies had he vastly increased our defense capability. Or he could have worked with our allies to issue genuine and enforceable deadlines, even in the midst of a defense cutback. But lowering our guard while backing off from self-created crises is a prescription for disaster.
Even Nobel Peace Prize laureates can cause wars — or rather especially Nobel laureates can cause wars.“
Just ask…
…James Earl Carter.
Speaking of the supposed brilliance of The Left and its Dear Misleader (at least according to Tom Coburn), here’s another example courtesy of Bill Meisen and FOX News:
“…in building some of his charts, Piketty switched between data sets in a way that was biased in favor of his argument. In his graph on wealth in the U.S., for instance, Piketty relied on data from one study going up until 1950, then for 1960 he switched to another study, and then for 1970 he went back to relying on the first study again. The authors conclude that Piketty used “cherry-picked data points to construct a trend line that mirrors his predictions.”
The authors also found that, in one Piketty graph about US historical tax revenue, he only had data going back until 1900; yet he made the graph go back to 1870 by assuming those years were the same as 1900 and by adding or subtracting a seemingly arbitrary number to make the data appear plausible.
Asked about the above issues, Piketty told FoxNews.com that there may be some typos in the book but said he did not think they affected his central conclusion…”
As Herr Meisen noted, no wonder Piketty was invited to the White House!
Congratulations, Monsieur Tom; you’re today’s winner of the Dan Rather Award for Accuracy in Writing.
Oh; and…
And a lying douchebag at that!
Moving on, writing at the Washington Examiner, Noemie Emery suggests come 2016, Conservatives remember…
Because Jeb’s hand in the White House is worth two in Hillary’s…well, you get the picture!
“…Nor is the Republican Party filled with frustrated stalwarts, whose voice has been silenced by Establishment trickery. Polls show that the ‘very conservative’ are only about one-fourth of the GOP rank and file, the same number as Republican ‘moderates.’ Both are outmatched by the ‘somewhat conservative,’ who at 40 percent are the bedrock of the Republican party, and who always determine its choice.
Nor did Romney lose because of his moderate squishiness. Exit polls show he demolished Obama on matters such as values and leadership, and lost only because he trailed him by 60 whole points on the singular issue of “cares about people like you.” He lost not because he wasn’t right-wing enough, but because he wasn’t enough like our 43rd president, who got 44 percent of the votes of Hispanics (Romney got 27 percent) and won working-class states like Ohio and Iowa, both of which Romney lost.
That said, Jeb himself is not without sin. He stresses the differences he has with the base, not the differences they both have with the Democrats. He seldom mentions the things that they both have in common — such as the whole of his record in Florida. In fact, he seems barely to notice that Obama exists…”
We’d be wise to remember the wisdom of William F. Buckley…
“The wisest choice would be the one who would win. No sense running Mona Lisa in a beauty contest. I’d be for the most right, viable candidate who could win.”
…even if he did go to Yale!
Next up, another sordid story straight from pages of The Crime Blotter:
Thomas Gilbert Sr., 70, was shot in the head at his Beekman Place residence on the East Side on Sunday, police said. Officers responded to the home after reports of shots fired, and found Gilbert in the bedroom, with a handgun near his body.
A law enforcement source told the New York Post that Thomas Gilbert Jr. had just been told by his father that he would only receive $400 for spending money per month from that point on in addition to $2,400 per month for rent. The younger Gilbert had previously received $600 per month.
Just so we understand the plan: kill Dad…and he increases our allowance?!? Assuming he beats the rap, Gilbert Jr.’s brilliant command of high finance provides him a bright future as an integral member of The Obamao’s economic advisory team.
In a related item, courtesy again of Bill Meisen, everything that’s wrong with America’s “black community” in a nutshell:
Cops: Walmart Shoplifters Left Kids In Vehicle
Busted parents never mentioned three children were in locked car
“…According to investigators, Tosheba Hope, 30, and Gerald Moultrie, 24, drove last night to a Walmart in Lauderdale Lakes. They were accompanied by Hope’s three children (ages two, five, and seven). Moultrie is the father of Hope’s youngest child.
Around 7 PM, Hope and Moultrie, pictured above, were detained after they allegedly sought to walk out of the retailer with $660 worth of tools and automotive accessories, according to a police report. The couple was subsequently arrested by Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and charged with grand theft, a felony.
After Hope and Moultrie were booked into the county jail, seven hours passed before investigators learned that their three children had been abandoned in the parking lot (Walmart workers spotted the minors and called 911). Deputies located the minors around 2 AM and turned them over to child welfare officials. While distressed, the children were unharmed.
In addition to the felony theft rap, the couple is also expected to face child neglect charges. According to court records, Moultrie’s rap sheet includes previous arrests for marijuana possession and driving without a license. During a court appearance this morning, Hope told a judge that she is “probably pregnant” with her fourth child.”
Since we’re on the subject of driving without a license and other illegal activity endangering the lives of innocent Americans, as reported by Breitbart.com, the citizens of the once-Golden State are in for a helluva ride:
CA Illegal Immigrant at DMV: ‘Nobody’s Passing’ Written Test
“…Under the AB 60 law that Governor Jerry Brown (D) signed in 2013 and took effect at the start of 2015, illegal immigrants were able to apply for driver’s licenses on Friday. And nearly 1.4 illegal immigrants are expected to apply for licenses in California in the next three years.
At a DMV in south Sacramento, Veronica Oropeza, a 28-year-old illegal immigrant who has reportedly been driving without a license for six years, reportedly failed her written exam twice. “Nobody’s passing,” she told the Sacramento Bee in Spanish.
As the Bee noted, “those who passed the written exam were given a driver’s permit and required to return another day to take the road test.”
When Nevada allowed illegal immigrants to apply for licenses last year, 71% of illegal immigrants in the state reportedly failed the written exam in the first three days. Wanting to avoid what happened in Nevada, immigrant groups like the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA) had provided free test prep classes to illegal immigrants in the final months of 2014.
Oropeza had “already spent more than three hours at the DMV,” and “she couldn’t stay to take the exam a third time, she said, because she had to get to work.”
Which is more than we can say for the majority of the residents of Compton!
However, fairness dictates we provide equal time to dissenting viewpoints. As Carlos Sada, head of the Mexican consulate in Los Angeles stated:
“In Mexico, it’s harder to drive. If you come from Mexico or Mexico City you are like a Ph.D. in driving. Of course they know how to drive. But do they know the rules? That is a problem.”
Yeah, that…and the difference between…
…life and death; for Drew Rosenberg and thousands like him! And this article was written way back in 2006!

Finally, courtesy of Balls Cotton, we say goodbye to what was an all-too-brief ray of sunshine in the otherwise threatening skies of modern academia:
The leader vs the lackey: UAB’s Ray Watts could learn a lot from BSC’s Charles Krulak
“…It’s probably unfair to contrast Krulak’s tenure at Birmingham-Southern College to the last few days of Ray Watts’ leadership at UAB, but I’m going to do it anyway. The timing of Krulak announcing his retirement and Watts’ most turbulent day on the job makes it impossible not to measure one against the other.
When UAB students rallied in front of the administration building Monday, Watts was invisible, despite their demands to meet with him. When Krulak moved to BSC, he and his wife lived in the student apartments instead of the president’s mansion.
Since Watts took the president’s job at UAB, he’s been largely invisible in Birmingham. Last year, during the city’s 50th anniversary of the civil rights marches here, Krulak led a march from the college to the Kelly Ingram Park in memory of Marti Turnipseed, a student expelled for taking part in the movement in 1963.
When Watts told UAB football players that their program had been cancelled Tuesday, one player told him bluntly that none of them had ever seen him before. When BSC’s women’s swim team won its conference championship earlier this year, Krulak- still wearing his jacket and tie – dove into the pool with them.
Since taking over at UAB, Watts has made a salary of $853,464, the 11th highest of university presidents in the country. In four years at BSC, Krulak has refused to take a salary.
Leaving the football team’s building on Tuesday, Watts had to be protected by police from students who were cussing him and punching his car as he pulled away. At Munger Auditorium on Tuesday, many students cried when Krulak told them he was retiring, and the guy Tom Clancy once called the “Warrior Prince of the Corps” got so choked up that he had to slip away from the stage before he could finish his remarks.
Watts has kept his students at arm’s length. Krulak keeps his students’ numbers in his phone and calls 10 of them every week to see how things are going…”
We don’t expect to see his like.
