It’s Friday, December 5th, 2014…but before we begin, two brief thoughts. First, Hope ‘n Change truly speaks for us when noting:

Which is great…until you realize $1.99/gallon, the lowest price in the country, is still 25 cents a gallon higher than the nationwide average when the Marxist-in-Chief took office. And, the dramatic price drop occurred despite B. Hussein’s best efforts to drive the cost of gasoline even higher!
Most importantly, As Townhall.com‘s John Ransom reminds us, America needs to…
“Remember this is a guy who told us we could not drill our way out of our energy problems. And then was promptly backed up by those phony fact-check fascists at TV and newspapers around the country.
“So what does this mean for America?” said Obama even as late as 2012 when he ought to have known better. “It means that anyone who tells you we can drill our way out of this problem doesn’t know what they’re talking about – or isn’t telling you the truth. The United States consumes more than a fifth of the world’s oil. But we only have 2% of the world’s oil reserves.”
(Note: These “fact check” stories supporting Obama on energy in 2008 have been removed from the award-winning FactCheck.org site. Wow! Another triumph of transparency!)
In other words, Liberals lie like rugs; and they don’t care who has to foot the bill for their fables.
Now, here’s The Gouge!
Leading off the last edition of the week, a couple of commentaries in support of our personal appraisal of The Obamao; namely, he’s a truly Manchurian candidate dedicated to the overthrow of the Constitution and free-market capitalism. Exhibit “A”: Townhall.com‘s John Ransom details the inevitable result of The Dear Misleader’s deliberately divisive policies:
“For the first post-racial president we’ve ever had, this is working out about just as I expected. The candidate Obama acted responsibly during the election of 2008 when he had to reassure white voters that he was really one of them. Since then [he’s] become a radical black activist, parroting the worst features of the cold, racial war that is an ugly and unfortunate feature of American life.
The contrast tells us that Obama knows what he’s doing.
He exploits race in the same way Elizabeth Warren has, in the same way Al Sharpton has. If Tawana Brawley had been “raped” last month– Brawley you’ll remember was the black teen who a grand jury believed may have invented a story about being gang raped by white men to avoid being punished by her mother and first brought Sharpton to fame– I think we’d know where Rev. Obama and his high priest Eric Holder would be standing (right next to her).
And they’d be standing next to her demanding justice without due process—also known as lynching—in the same way they did in Boston, MA, in Sanford, FL and in Ferguson, MO.
And if Reverend Wright, Obama’s advising clergy from Chicago, says “G*d damn America” for her sins on race, then I think the rest of us can say “g*d damn Obama”—figuratively, not literally—for his sins on race. (We’d prefer literally…quite literally!)
Personally, I would like to see everyone saved. But I think I can say salvation for this country on race issues has become harder not easier thanks to Obama.
I would like to see racial issues talked about in this country. (As would we…assuming they’re legitimate!) I just hate seeing them lied about. So, yeah: g*d damn Obama.
Then there’s Exhibit “B”, courtesy of The New Media Journal‘s Nancy Salvato, who suggests America pay attention to what have heretofore been voices crying in the wilderness:
“…I know it’s hard to imagine that there might be nefarious forces at work, conspiring to bring down the United States of America, but think for a moment about the Cold War and the vast human and other resources it took for the Soviet Union to strategically place spies posing as average American families raising their children in DC and Virginia. There is no secret about Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals, that Hillary Clinton herself wrote a term paper on his strategies to promote progressivism by fomenting revolution (as well as corresponded with him) or that Cloward Pliven supporters were influenced by his tactics. Our president himself was a former “community organizer” advocate/activist for the breakdown of the status quo.
Before legitimizing our president’s actions, one must look at motive. Let’s not forget Michele Obama’s famous words, “For the First Time in My Adult Lifetime, I’m Really Proud of My Country…because I think people are hungry for change” and that President Obama himself promised to fundamentally transform America. Van Jones, the president’s former Green Jobs Czar said to affect change, there needed to be pressure which he described as, “top down, bottom up, inside out.” It is imperative that we not forget that it is the ideas and rule of law written in our founding documents which unites us as Americans. At some point, citizens must stop disbelieving the sentinels who are trying to bring attention to information not covered by the mainstream media as conspiratorial and open their minds to the idea that perhaps all is not right with their world, after all.“
Make no mistake about it: it’s been his plan…

Since we’re on the subject of Progressives creating facts to fit their preconceived narratives, Jonah Goldberg offers his thoughts on what may well be 2014’s equivalent of the Duke lacrosse debacle:
“…Erdely admits she set out to find a sexual-assault story at an elite school like UVA. She looked at lots of other colleges first, but “none of those schools felt quite right” in the words of a Washington Post profile of Erdely. But UVA, which Erdely describes in Rolling Stone as a school without a thriving “radical feminist culture seeking to upend the patriarchy,” was just right. As Worth magazine editor Richard Bradley noted last week, the whole thing seems like an adventure in confirmation bias.
…Erdely’s story was reported uncritically for days as a powerful example of the “rape epidemic” that is somehow taking place amidst a 20-year decline in reported rapes. News outlets repeated the claim that one in five college women are sexually assaulted. This bogus statistic comes from “The Campus Sexual Assault Study,” a shoddy online survey of just two universities that counted attempted (forced) kissing and the like as “sexual assault” — and never even asked female respondents about rape…”
Angry, lying Liberals; do they…
…come any other way?!? Then again, Rolling Stone‘s failure to get both sides of the story may be a blessing in disguise. At least in this case the unfounded claims of a demonstrably unreliable victim won’t ruin the lives of the purported perpetrators before they’re afforded a defense.
But what can one expect, the Washington Examiner‘s Noemie Emery notes, from god-like Progressive psychics…or perhaps more accurately psychos…who can plumb the depths of a man’s soul?
“…When voters turned on Dukakis, was it because they had ample ground to distrust his judgment after he vetoed a bill denying furloughs to convicted murderers? Not to the Democrats, who, like The Shadow, knew all. They sensed that the voters were moved not by your normal aversion to rape and murder, but by the fact that the assailant was black. Even though no one knew this until after Dukakis was sunk by the issue, they remained certain that behavior itself played no part in the outcome. Had the villain been merely your typical snaggle-toothed redneck, the public would simply have shrugged and moved on.
With this as their template, Democrats went on to many more years of assigning their own thoughts to their foes or the public, claiming they knew more of what others were thinking than those others knew of themselves. On a good day, about 80 percent of the content generated by left-leaning websites will be spent explaining why Republican positions on x, y and z are really expressions of their fear and loathing of non-white Americans, and how modern conservatives descend from John C. Calhoun, Jefferson Davis, the 1948 presidential campaign of Strom Thurmond and the Ku Klux Klan in its entirety in one straight and unbroken line. MSNBC frets over the threat of the “dog whistle,” by which one uses a commonplace phrase to send a sinister message to one’s fellow bigots. Only their network’s anchors are apparently able to hear them…”
Next up, a truly excellent piece of investigative journalism from Heather Mac Donald, courtesy of the City Journal and G. Trevor, Lord High King of all the Vietors, describing in detail the latest PC rage sweeping college campuses. The article is somewhat lengthy, but well worth taking the time to read:
“In November 2013, two dozen graduate students at the University of California at Los Angeles marched into an education class and announced a protest against its “hostile and unsafe climate for Scholars of Color.” The students had been victimized, they claimed, by racial “microaggression”—the hottest concept on campuses today, used to call out racism otherwise invisible to the naked eye. UCLA’s response to the sit-in was a travesty of justice. The education school sacrificed the reputation of a beloved and respected professor in order to placate a group of ignorant students making a specious charge of racism.
The pattern would repeat itself twice more at UCLA that fall: students would allege that they were victimized by racism, and the administration, rather than correcting the students’ misapprehension, penitently acceded to it. Colleges across the country behave no differently. As student claims of racial and gender mistreatment grow ever more unmoored from reality, campus grown-ups have abdicated their responsibility to cultivate an adult sense of perspective and common sense in their students. Instead, they are creating what tort law calls “eggshell plaintiffs”—preternaturally fragile individuals injured by the slightest collisions with life. The consequences will affect us for years to come…”

And in the Education Section, the MacIver Institute reveals how Wisconsin teachers really feel about their unions:
“In elections that ended last Tuesday, government workers voted to decertify 25 school district unions that sought recertification. Plus, 100 fewer unions than last year chose to seek recertification. Last year, 408 units sought recertification. This year, the number was down to 305.
…While a majority of unions that sought recertification gained more than 51 percent of support in their elections, a large number of union members chose to vote against or not vote for their collective bargaining unit. In total, 14,820 union members did not vote in favor of recertification…”

Turning now to the Sports Section, more news you really can’t use:

Scott said he made a deliberate decision to go public in a low-key manner without “some banner headline.” “That’s not how I operate,” he was quoted as saying by Outsports. “It’s not a shock to MLB management because they’re well aware of my situation and it’s not a shock to the umpire staff. If it would have been, I don’t think I would have done it.”
Soooo…he “made a deliberate decision to go public in a low-key manner without ‘some banner headline'”, ‘cuz “that’s now how” he operates. Yeah…right! Then why go public at all…other than to grab publicity, talk show appearances or a book contract?!?
Finally, since we’re on the subject of sports figures who use homosexuality to make up for a lack of attention…or talent:
Michael Sam believes he’s not on a NFL roster because of the fact he’s openly gay — telling TMZ Sports he strongly believes he’s got the talent to play in the league. Sam was at LAX this morning when he was asked if he thinks NFL teams are shying away from him because of his sexual orientation … or if it has to do with the level of talent he faced after college. “I think I was the SEC Defensive Player of the Year last year … so I don’t think it had to do with talent.”
Translation — he believes he’s on the outs because he’s out.
Yeah…like Tim Tebow’s not playing quarterback for the Broncos because he’s a devout Christian. No Mike; the only reason you got a shot at playing in the NFL was because you’re gay!!!
More accurate translation: Sam might also believe in the Easter Bunny, the Great Pumpkin and the existence of life on Mars; but they won’t give him the speed, quickness or strength necessary to make the transition from college to professional football.
In the meantime, Sam might want to look what it takes to become a major league baseball umpire. No doubt Dale Scott would be happy to act as his mentor; you know…look over his shoulder so to speak!
