It’s Friday, July 4th, 2014…and we take a moment to wish the greatest country in the history of the planet not only a very Happy Birthday…

…but many happy returns.  Though with two more years of this Marxist traitor at the helm…

obama-happy-forth1

obama-light-the-grill-happy-progressive-fourth…it’s far from certain the American Ship of State can weather the storm into which she’s being steered.  In the words of the genuine Abraham Lincoln, Der Obafuhrer’s truly testing “whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.”  It’s our hope and prayer America never sees the day when life in these United States imitates this art:

Now, here’s The Gouge!

First up, courtesy of Tom Bakke, Calvin Coolidge, one of our most underrated Presidents, offers comments which clearly anticipated the current Narcissist-in-Chief:

It is often asserted that the world has made a great deal of progress since 1776, that we have had new thoughts and new experiences which have given us a great advance over the people of that day, and that we may therefore very well discard their conclusions for something more modern. But that reasoning cannot be applied to this great charter. If all men are created equal, that is final. If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final. If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions. If anyone wishes to deny their truth or their soundness, the only direction in which he can proceed historically is not forward, but backward toward the time when there was no equality, no rights of the individual, no rule of the people. Those who wish to proceed in that direction can not lay claim to progress. They are reactionary. Their ideas are not more modern, but more ancient, than those of the Revolutionary fathers’.

For more on the subject of the nincompoop the American public just rated the worst Chief Executive in modern history, Commentary Magazine‘s Peter Wehner calls the action as…

The Obama Presidency Unravels

Lifestyles-Of-The-Bitch-And-Blameless

“..All of this presents a rather fascinating psychological case study. In the face of challenges and failure, some of us get better and some of us get worse. In this instance, the president’s worst tendencies are being amplified.

Among other things, he’s becoming increasingly petty and petulant. In recent days he’s complained that Republicans “don’t do anything except block me. And call me names.” He’s taken to deriding the Speaker of the House by saying, “So sue me.” Instead of self-reflection, then, we are getting self-pity.

The president also appears to be growing more insular and isolated, exasperated that his greatness isn’t fully recognized by the rest of us. He’s increasingly disappointed that this nation and the world doesn’t conform to his wishes and ways. Frustrated by our constitutional system of checks and balances, Mr. Obama, the good progressive that he is, has decided he’ll simply ignore them. He wants what he wants.

The unraveling of his presidency is something Mr. Obama is having a great deal of difficulty processing. We have as president a man who is dogmatic, arrogant, vexed, increasingly embittered and feeling under siegeThis won’t end well.”

Along with totally inexperienced, incurably egotistic, utterly incompetent and thoroughly Socialistic!

In a related item from the pages of the WSJ, Peggy Noonan notes the nature of what she terms…

The Daydream and the Nightmare

Obama isn’t doing his job. He’s waiting for history to recognize his greatness.

“…On his state trip to Italy in the spring, he asked to spend time with “interesting Italians.” They were wealthy, famous. The dinner went for four hours. The next morning his staff were briefing him for a “60 Minutes” interview about Ukraine and health care. “One aide paraphrased Obama’s response: ‘Just last night I was talking about life and art, big interesting things, and now we’re back to the minuscule things on politics.”’

Minuscule? Politics is his job.

When the crisis in Ukraine escalated in March, White House aides wondered if Mr. Obama should cancel a planned weekend golf getaway in Florida. He went. At the “lush Ocean Reef Club,” he reportedly told his dinner companions: “I needed this. I needed the golf. I needed to laugh. I needed to spend time with friends.”

You get the impression his needs are pretty important in his hierarchy of concerns…

Along, of course, with the needs of…

Next up, writing at The Federalist, Daniel Payne details the arrant amorality of one of The Dear Misleader’s most dependable voting blocs:

The New Sins Of ‘Nonjudgmental’ Millennials

Millennials are like the Moral Majority, except genderqueer.

millennials-360

“…If you speak to the average 20-something or Millennial about the concept of sin, you may be treated to a kind of quasi-Unitarian dismissal of the concept, a sort of uncomfortable rejection of the notion of ecclesiastical proscription in any sense: “I’m very spiritual,” you’ll hear a lot, “but not religious.” What this looks like in practice is generally a dismissal of accountability towards any higher power, or at least towards any rules He might impose upon His people: It is, after all, 2014

If the rise of The Obamao proves anything, it’s the wisdom of the sage who so accurately observed of those lacking a moral compass…

Moving on to the MSM’s anointed heir apparent, The Washington Times‘ Wes Pruden believes…

Hillary Clinton’s air of ‘inevitability’ evaporating

Stumbling on road to White House

Hillary Clinton

“Hillary Clinton needs a conscience transplant, and she needs it now. Her book tour is in a shambles, the fate of her $14 million advance from her publisher is marooned somewhere in limbo. She’s under 50 percent approval for the first time in the presidential polling for 2016, and, scariest of all, she’s having to call on Bubba for help. She knows better than to become merely “a wife of,” but 2014 is beginning to smell like 2008, and she’s Miss Inevitability once more. This is deja vu all over again

This lying bimbo’s carrying so much excess baggage her backside is…

Moving to the Follow-Up segment, submitted for your perusal, the WSJ‘s thoughts on a radical Socialist ideologue posing as an impartial jurist:

The Political Ginsburg

The Justice’s dissent in Hobby Lobby isn’t a judicial opinion.

lead

Where’s my birdseed?

…Justice Ginsburg’s dissent is so far removed from the legal reality that it doesn’t qualify as a judicial opinion. It is a political opinion whose purpose seems to be to mobilize opposition to the Court and perhaps even motivate Democrats to turn out at the polls. Justice Antonin Scalia sometimes unleashes his rhetorical ferocity on decisions he dislikes, but his dissents are rooted in the law. Justice Ginsburg’s is a flight from the law…

Speaking of radical Marxist wolves in impartial sheep’s clothing, FOX News reports on the latest happenings at the Useless Nations:

UN Pay and Perks: After two years of US study, still a mystery

useless-un

How much are the U.N.’s highly-compensated and notoriously inefficient staffers really paid? The U.S. government has been trying to solve that mystery for the past two years, even as the Obama Administration refuses to reveal how much the U.S. contributes to the bloated and not-very-effective organization.

According to a new report by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) however, the full answer to the U.N. pay-and-perks puzzle is unknown –-and may stay that way for years to come. As the GAO report delicately puts it, the U.N. review “does not incorporate all key elements of total compensation.”

And without that information, on such items as U.N. pensions and health insurance, the GAO notes that the U.N. General Assembly and its dues-paying member states “will not be able to make fully informed decisions about proposed changes to the compensation system.” Translation: if you don’t know what the costs are going to be, you can’t properly control them.

Question: If you were the UN, why in the world would you care what your costs are, let alone properly control them…particularly when NOBODY EVER AUDITS YOU?!?  Trust us, they’ll find Lois Lerner’s emails before they figure out the UN’s fabricated financials.  Our thanks to the hopelessly Pollyannish Progressives responsible for birthing this bottomless money pit.

Burt Reynolds to Tell All

…The 78-year-old Reynolds promises in a statement to “set the record straight” on everything from his love affairs with Sally Field and Loni Anderson to his Cosmopolitan centerfold from 1972…

Yeah…but who on earth will be the least bit interested in listening?!?
