John ‘apartheid’ Kerry
You know that moment when your mother-in-law is overheard telling her husband you’re a grasping hussy who isn’t good enough for her son? You always knew it, but you’d never caught her dead to rights? Yeah, that’s how Israel feels in the wake of the widely discussed, applauded,denounced, denied and admitted and apologized for remarks by US SecState Kerry warning Israel could become an “apartheid state.” Israelis on both left and right sensed that that’s how the current administration felt, but they’d never heard it said, you know, out loud.
Sorry to make such a flip analogy, but seriously, people, didn’t we know that this is what Team Obama thinks about Israel? Yes, yes, no administration has had as close a relationship blahblahblah. Yeah yeah, there are Israelis who have said the same thing. There are also Americans who have said the same; but they haven’t been the Secretary of State.
Why does this matter? A few reasons, none of them good.
- This gives encouragement to the worst of the Jew haters and Israel haters whose ranks are growing around the world.
- This (again) gives the lie to the notion of the United States as an “honest broker” in any peace process.
- This further discourages the Arab world from trusting the United States. After Syria, Iraq, signs of a troubling deal with Iran and general retreat, the Arab world has already lost what little trust it had in Washington. US-Israel relations are a barometer of how loyal a friend the US is; and when the president and his people are stabbing the Israelis in the back, where does that put those with whom we have a less close relationship?
- This encourages the Irans, Hezbollahs, Hamases and other terrorists that the US relationship with Israel is not what it was, and that Israeli security is of second or third order of importance to the US.
There are plenty more reasons why we should decry the fact that our SecState thinks of Israel in the same breath as he thinks of racist South Africa…. And doesn’t think of the oppression of the Shi’a in the Muslim world as “apartheid,” or the second class status of women in the Middle East as “apartheid,” or the treatment of Palestinians in places like Lebanon as “apartheid.” I’ll leave you to ponder that.
Speaking of bald-faced liars…
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says he’s received threats mailed to his home that he calls “ugly, vile, vulgar.” The Nevada Democrat told reporters Tuesday that nearly all of the threats cite scripture from the Bible. He did not say who the threats came from.

Such inconvenient and unaccustomed exposés of Liberal lies are likely the reason behind the Left’s latest assault on the First Amendment:
The one-page bill, reviewed by WND, calls for the Justice Department and the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights to “analyze information on the use of telecommunications, including the Internet, broadcast television and radio, cable television, public access television, commercial mobile services, and other electronic media, to advocate and encourage violent acts and the commission of crimes of hate.”
The bill does not define which actions by broadcasters would be considered to have encouraged violence, seemingly leaving that open to interpretation.
How convenient…for Big Brother and his Marxist minions.

The next time someone says the John Roberts Supreme Court consistently blocks Obama Administration policy, be sure to recall the ObamaCare case. But right behind that you can mention Tuesday’s 6-2 ruling that anoints the Environmental Protection Agency’s habit of rewriting the Clean Air Act and even offers a convenient legal rationale that the EPA hadn’t offered.
Chief Justice Roberts—this is becoming a habit—and Justice Anthony Kennedy joined the four liberal Justices to overturn a D.C. Circuit appellate panel and revive the EPA’s 2011 cross-state pollution rule.
Keep in mind, this is the worldview…

They cultivated plants, cleared forests with extensive burning to boost the population of desired animals, and otherwise altered the landscape in ways that may have seemed natural to newcomers but were nonetheless profound. As biologist Charles Kay observes, “Native Americans were the ultimate keystone species, and their removal has completely altered ecosystems … throughout North America.”
Kay goes on to note that when we set aside a “wilderness” and then let “nature take its course,” we aren’t preserving “some remnant of the past.” We are instead creating “conditions that have not existed for the last 10,000 years.”…
But if you thought the last ten thousand years were tough, if Scott Atlas is anywhere close to right…and we think he’s spot on…thanks to the Unaffordable Care Act, the next 10 will be hell, particularly for anyone without the cash to fund their own healthcare:
