It’s Friday, March 17th, 2023…but before we begin…

Now, owing to a combination of physical discomfort and work intruding on fun, here’s a very abbreviated St. Patrick’s Day edition of The Gouge, consisting today of a brief sextet of special selections certain to pique the interest of inquiring Conservative minds:

(1). Writing at The Patriot Post, Mark Alexander relates how Trump’s irrevocable and fatal political error in his COVID-19 response and recovery strategy was appointing Anthony Fauci as his de facto “public health” strategist.

(2). In the wake of a Pastor Derek Reimer’s arrest for peacefully protesting a Calgary drag queen show for children, we would do well to heed his colleague Artur Pawlowski’s admonition concerning the way Canadian authorities are now enforcing ideology in the same manner they pioneered with their COVID-19 protocols:

“I’ve warned Canadians for a very long time — and I’m warning Americans, as well — that you will be ruled by what you tolerate. If you tolerate corruption, you will be ruled by corruption. If you tolerate perversion, you will eventually be ruled by perversion.”

(3). You’ll be happy to learn Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen admitted during a Thursday Congressional hearing Chinese Communist Party-linked businesses that had deposits in Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) will be made whole by the American taxpayer…er,…banking system.  Along with all the tech billionaires.

(4). Kim Strassel details why, if Washington wants to point fingers in the wake of the Silicon Valley Bank collapse, it should aim the biggest digit at itself.

(5). FOX reports the DeSantis administration is moving to strip a major Miami hotel of its liquor license after hosting a Christmas-themed drag queen show in December with children present despite warnings it constituted a violation of Florida law.  Go, Ron.  Go!

(6). FOX also informs us Biden was caught telling a third version of his infamous gay marriage “epiphany“.  Did one of his children asked him…or was did 46* ask his father when he saw two well-dressed men in suits when he was a high school senior…or was he in a car during his junior year and saw two men kissing in the next car over at a red light?  Then again, maybe it was the drunk truck driver who became startled seeing Corn Pop kissing the Amtrak conductor and swerved into his first wife’s car.
