Random Thoughts on the Passing Scene
(1). In a recent conversation with Daniel Francis regarding the efforts by the California and Maryland state senates to enact legalized infanticide, our learned lawyer put the concept into proper perspective. Absent the support system which provides each of them food, water, shelter and all the other necessities of modern life, as well as protection from all the hazards associated therewith, how many of those sponsoring or backing these abominable bills could survive the 28 days given newborns deemed not of long-term viability if denied same?
Think about it: No Safeway, no Giant, no Trader Joe’s, no Uber Eats, no Door Dash, no PG&E, no BG&E, no roof, no walls, no heat, no a/c, and most importantly of all, NO WATER!
Watching Woman in Gold the other day for the umpteenth time, we were once again mystified by the mindset which could have allowed the atrocities the movie chronicled. That is, only until we acknowledged the kinship between 1930s/40s Nazis and those ardently advocating for infanticide today.
(2). There’s no doubt Dimocrats are going to do their best to steal the upcoming election, which is another reason theyso desperately want to maintain the mask mandate. Count on COVID mounting a comeback just prior to the election to aid their efforts to reinstitute the fraudulent polling practices which gave Joe Biden more votes than registered voters. (3). The heartening results of our latest poll notwithstanding, we remain mystified by the love affair so many continue to have with The Donald, a candidate who was never anything more than a stop-gap measure in opposition to Hillary. Yes, he accomplished much in office, despite being under merciless, largely manufactured attacks from every side 24/7. But he’s served his purpose, and it’s time to back other candidates with all of his strengths but none of his considerable shortcomings.
(4). Reading the latest by the Brownstone Institute‘s Jeffrey Tucker entitled The Unmasking of America, we were struck by this curious comment contained therein:
“Even so, one sensed that for two years Americans had been seething. It became clear by the summer of 2020 when George Floyd protests spread across the country. A just cause, to be sure, but also finally a chance for the locked down to get out of their homes, see their friends,and blow off some steam.”
“Protests”…”just cause“…”a chance for the locked down to…see their friends, blow off some steam“?!? Sorry, but on what planet was Tucker residing while much of Minneapolis and other of America’s urban centers descended into rioting, looting, anarchy and arson?!? As we noted this past Monday regarding The Washington Free Beacon‘s Matt Continetti “consistently conflating legitimate opposition to ILLEGAL immigration and open borders with hostility towards LAWFUL immigration across closely-controlled national boundaries”, we never cease to be amazed at the ability of otherwise intelligent Conservatives to offer up such senseless statements.
(5). In recording the era of masking has ended, allowing Americans yearning to breath free their Constitutional right to do so, the Morning Jolt aptly noted:
“At this point, putting on a mask feels like catering to someone else’s hypochondria…As always, if you want to wear a mask, you can. But it was never reasonable to expect your fellow citizens to wear masks for years and years.”
(7). Though, as contributor Jeff Foutch noted, one should still never elicit advice from under-educated children, this clip of EnviroNazi poster child Greta Thunberg defending democracy does confirm even a broken clock is, on occasion, correct.
(8). If Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, then, like the close female relative we previously mentioned, there’s no denial like that of a Biden voter refusing to recognize the egregiousness of their error, the latest example being a neighbor TLJ happened to meet while walking the dogs Thursday evening. Upon learning his utter disdain for The Donald led him to help elect that doddering, demented deviant, TLJ asked what he thought of his decision in light of Biden’s actions, to which our neighbor responded, “I don’t watch the news.” Which in turn begs the question why he detests Trump so much if he doesn’t “watch the news”?!?
Here’s the juice: It’s no coincidence Solomon, who God granted wisdom greater than anyone before or since…with the possible exception the self-described wise Latina woman Sonia Sotomayor…wrote in Ecclesiastes 10:2: “The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left.” Any questions?!?
